Family - March 2007

i have a partner for almost 7 years and we have a two-year old son. Everything seemed perfect and ideal, until now. I have odd feelings for him..he touches me and i want to jump, he kisses me it makes me puke! I believe that it's the result of his changes towards me. he failed me number of times, i was a battered wife at least twice and i fought back..and i even wound him through words..I believe i still love him and don't want a broken family..Are these signs that we have to part ways? or these are just part of the test that every couple experiences? Someone please help..I want to act on this now or it will be too late..Thanks!

my mum really wants me to go to her house which is four hours away and and i will have to go on a slow bus that goes the long way around and i said i would go coz she wants me to have dinner with some old friends and her and i really don't want to go and i told her and now she is really upset and mad how can i get her happy without going!! im tired and i have school work and im moving house soon so i need to pack! i feel awful!

Their biological father pays CSA but he's not wanted to know kids until he did start paying. He saw them for 2 hrs last week. Before that was months ago. My American husband is in the US and we're desperate to be with him. I'm at the lawyers on Monday but wondered if anyone here could help too. My kids are 15 and 12. And we're British.

My son is basically an A student, every now & then a B or C sneaks in, but he always manages to pull the grade up. He gets up @ 5:00am and rides the bus for an 11/2hr to school. He is also part of after school sports. So on the days he has practice he is busy from 5am until 9pm. This is really the only constant issue he has with his teachers. However they are fed up and he needs to stop before they turn against him. Any suggestions on what to do?

I have a friend who is disabled and living on a fixed income..Her grown children go and drop off the babies at grandmas and never offer to pay her or buy her aloaf of bread.When she told them that she needed help with money they got angry.They said Grandmothers werent supposed to charge.They were really teed off.She tried to explain that she didnt mind watching them and she loved them but that she needed a little help.. she told them that they dont have to worry about their kids being abused or ever being hungry wet of neglected.I have seen that those babies prefer the grandma over the parents.They cry when they leave her.My question is this why do kids think its ok to take advantage of a grandparent.Especially that of one with limited income.?Dont you think the right thing to do is pay the grandma.Even if its only to keep peace of mind..Is it wrong for a grandmother to charge family?

Would you think it'd be okay for a teenage girl who just started PMS to love her Father more than her Mother?
Nothing like sex wise, but more like "family bonding"...
I don't realy like my mom very much because she demands people to respect her...And I think repsect needs to be earned. I have resepct for my Dad, yet more of a fake "I'l go with it..." respect for my Mom, therefor, I like my Dad more than my Mom...They just moved back in with each other and I have a closer relationship with my Dad more than my Mom...
Would you think this is right? I mean, I don't realy think of a person who demands things like that shouldn't get very much respect, and my Dad expects for a person to earn respect, trust, and love, not to demand it, and I agree with him...

Is it anything wrong to love my Dad more than my Mom?

I have so many different friends and we all differ greatly on childrearing. My approach is to be open, understanding, communicate and to allow my children to be theirself (within reason). A lot of my friends feel love hard, and rule with an iron fist, that your children need to fear their parents so as they grow older they will stay in line. I feel if you are close to your children, they will not want to disappoint you, and will do right. Thoughts?

p.s. we are all single mothers

my boyfriend has cancer since he was a child, he is now 26 i am 29, we are living together, i love him but i can't handle the possibility of losing him one day to cancer, he is currently treating a recurrance of cancer, should i get out now, so i don't have to face future pain of losing him?

I am 20 years old, and I am still at home. I am going to college and will still be here for about another year. At that time I will move out after college, I have a really good relationship with my parents, and it seems like they want me to live here till im 40.I love them both verymuch and wouldnt want to hurt them but when I move out I wanna move to nyc. Im from a small town and my parents think that im gonna stay here even though Ive told them I wanna live there.Its very important to me, but now Im starting to have second thoughts, what if when I get married they wont get to see my kids. everyone is leaving them and I feel horrible about it.....what should I do? I want them to be happy, but I wanna leave here and see whats out there. Ive already been in nyc and LOVED it there....what do I do?

I am the only friend of a 82 years old man, i am 29 years old, he has no children, only 2 elderly brother and 1 nephew, his family rarely come and visit him, he has no wife either. I honestly care about him and i often go shopping for him and taking him to the doctor visit. He calls me 'grand daughter', and i just took him out last weekend to his favourite restaurant. The problem is that i am not very weathy ( i work very hard), do you think my elderly friend will help me out and leave me somthing one day?

im 25 and i have 2 sons but my parents raised 4 daughters and my dad was always harder on my nephews and my mom was always harder on us girls ..she always said boys parents dont have to worry about there daughters getting pregnant..Well i see it like this ..girls can only get pregnant one pregnancy at a time but boys can go out and get 3-4 or more girls pregnant at once ..would u rather have ur daughter pregnant or your son out there spreading his seed and possibily getting more then one girl pregnant at one time?...am i the only one who thinks like this?

I've been dating a guy for eight months now. We started as friends about two years ago and the relationship developed. My parents used to like him because they thought we were just friends. When they found out we were actually dating, they totally object because we're different nationals, we have different cultures and so on. My parents don't know we're still together.

I'd like to make them get along with him, just like the old days. I don't think we can hide forever.

Hi. I live in Brunswick, Ga. Last Thursday there was a 6 year old boy that went missing. They found his body today. Just wondering how could anyone do that to a child that hasn't even had the chance to live yet? Are there really people out there that is that sick? And how could the parents of that child actually cop with that?

Hi. Ive got an issue with me, my daughter and her biological father. He sez he wants a lawyer to talk to me about his parental rights. See, he paid child support for years now and hasnt paid for months. He and I broke up when i was pregnant at 15 (i am now 23) and he only seen her maybe 3 times her entire life. Shes 8 1/2 now. He hasnt seen her since she was about 1 1/2 years old. She has not a clue who he is or that her stepfather now isnt her real father. He doesnt know her biological father and doesnt know hes out there. So what "parental rights" does he have? He cant just say he wants to see her when hes nothing but some stranger to her and sees my husband as her father. My husbands been in her life and raised her when she was 18 months. He cant just barge in her life and say hey im your real dad right? All im asking is what parental rights does he have? He hasnt seen her in 7 years. Never acknowledged her. Thanks!

My guy can say the most hurtfull things to me and make me cry and he still doesnt forgive me even though i say im sorry but no matter how bad he hurts me or how much he makes me cry i cant leave him because he took my virginity and im in love with him but i cant take the way he treats me anymore but i cant leave him because i love him too much. And my mom has always told me to have respect for myself and to not let any guy treat me like s*** but i cant forget about him. please help me out i dont want to love him anymore
