WELL FIRST OF ALL I THINK YOU AND YOUR PARENTS NEED TO SIT DOWN AND HAVE A LONG TALK ABOUT YOUR BOYFRIEND. LISTEN TO WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY BEFOR YOU SAY WHAT YOU WANT TO, REMEMBER THAT PARENTS ARE VERY PROTECTIVE OF THERE CHILDREN'S AND SOME ARE STRICKED WHEN IT COMES TO RELIGION AND DIFFERENT CULTURES. LET THEM SEE AND KNOW THAT HE IS A GOOD PERSON INSIDE AN OUT AND THAT THEY CAN TRUST YOU TO DO THE RIGHT THING. I THINK IF THEY DON'T KNOW THAT YALL ARE SEEING EACH OTHER YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY INFORM THEM. BECAUSE IT WILL BE WORST IF THEY FIND OUT BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOURSELF AND THEN THEY WILL BE MORE LIKELY TO NOT TRUST YOU AND WOULDN'T WANT YOU TO SEE THE GUY UNDER NO CONDITIONS. TELL THEM THAT THEY LIKED HIM BEFOR SO WHY NOT NOW. DON'T KEEP THIS A SECRET FROM THEM, JUST TRY TO TALK TO THEN AND SEE WHERE IT GOES. I THINK THEY WILL COME AROUND AS LONG AS YOU'RE NOT GIVING THEM A REASON TO DO OTHERWISE

You need to bring him around your parents more. They need to get to know the person he really is. Relgion and culture are important; however, this is 2007. What is more important is that you are a happy, secure and loving couple.
My boyfriend and I have a 6 year age difference, at first my mom was not fond of him. But, as our relationship progressed her view changed. Each time I brought him around for holidays, birthdays or get togethers the more and more she liked him. We've been dating for 3 years.
Parent's aren't perfect and they have your best interest in mind; however, they can be wrong sometimes too.

The best thing you could do is have them sit down and talk. Communication is how people get things across, and since he's of an entirely different culture, then talking about it to your parents will help them become more familiar with his beliefs rather than weirded out or unaccepting of them. Just make sure his speech is proper and clean when he talks to them. Other than that, having a conversation with them successfully is the best way to go.

Different cultures have different values, and the way they treat women can sometimes be very different.
They are just concerned, my parents were exactly the same. Maybe invite him over for dinner with your parents...

that's to bad. i think that you need to talk to them about it and see why they really don't like him. and you can't change there minds if they are going to hate him for the color of there skin then they are. but you don't all ways have to do what you are told, you are old enough that you can make your own choices. you are going to love who you want and you don't all ways need your mom and dads promotion.
