My friends daughter will be 18 in a few months...any suggestions (realistic responses only please)? Nothing too expensive, but something that she will be able to keep for a lifetime.

Me and my wife have a 15 year old son and his girlfriend's parents we have known for years since they were little and they went out of town and so we said we would watch their daughter and she would sleep on the couch... well she has always been a very trusting and nice young lady and my son never gets into trouble but when I got up to check on her she wasn't on the couch and when I went in my sons room she was with my son having sex and I'm not sure how to handle the situation because I never did anything like that so my parents never had to say anything about sex or anything so does anyone have any adcive on what to do or say???

I remember the little things that my parents have taught me...for example, my father taught me that the people around you can think what they like about you, as long as you have a good impression of yourself. He also taught me how to play many games like backgammon and how to paddle a kayak/canoe. My mother taught me that in baking the measurements have to be EXACT, or it won't turn out properly. She also taught me that you have to try if you expect positive results.

I've learned a lot from my parents - what have you learned from yours?

We've been living in a trailor my parents helped us get and we have had the intentions of paying them back for several years. But now we've had an opprotunity to buy something bigger and my parents are very furios. They feel we don't have the money to pay them back but we have the money to get a new double wide. I understand where they are coming from . It's just unfortunate that this was their first reaction instead being happy that we are trying to better ourselves. We have a growing family and we need something bigger. It hurts us that they aren't happy for us but we do realize they want their money and we are doing the best we can. My wife's parents never acted like that. She said they always sacrifices for their children and never asked for anything in return. Hell, they gave us 5 acres to put our new trailor on, when we couldn't even get my parents to SELL us any land. In this day and time many families aren't talking over financial disputes. We intend to pay them back.

My dad's not around and Im the main male figure in my little sister's life. We are close and we muck about and fight like siblings do but at the same time because my mum never remarried I also have to play the "dad role". Im the one who's responsible for setting the ground rules, curfews, groundings, bedtimes and home works. I'm her brother and I still want her to feel free to tell me anything but now that she's getting older (14 this year) I'm scared she won't open up to me as much as she used to as I am sort of in charge of discipline and all that. How am I meant to act? Its a bit hard trying to be her brother and a father figure at the same time.

I had a lot of trouble with my mother in the past but I have tried to make it up to her the last couple of years. I had to move back home and am working. I pay part of the bills and I don't try to stir up trouble with her.

Lastely it seems that everything I do is wrong. Everything I cook is wrong, I vacuum wrong..she complains about everything. My siblings who are older can do something and get away with it, but if I do it- I get yelled at.

I am 32. She reads my mail or doesn't even give it to me and she wants to know who I talk to on the phone. She tells me when to go to bed too.

How do I let her know that enough is enough and I want some respect from her?

His brother was killed in 2002, his family will not help him and i feel that if his father and mother would have helped the boy that was killed he would never have died he was 17 shot in the heaf he died in his brothers arms, this happened in St.Stephens S.C. they have the person that shot him in jail, the oldest brother has been in a car accident got thrown through a window had a broken neck and back a guess the lawsuit is still pending i am not sure wether they are trying to rail roag him or not i haven't lived in S.C. since 2002 and when i was there i did make sure the boy that was killed didn't get hurt it was after i left this happened he went to school with my youngest daughter, that is how i knew him. Well anyways does anyone know of any programs where the oldest can get into and a place to live his family will not help he doesn't know how to drive and i am not even sure of his age he is in his 20's i don't know if he even has any skills because his parents were lousy parents

My mum knows it and i have already told her but she doesn't seem to actually do anything. She just sais "I am going to say the same things when you want to date". (I'm 13) but she doesn't think that I don't have a child to be upset of. I know it doesn't sound right and she is too young to stay alone for the rest of her life but i can't help it: i hate it every time!

I've been beaten up by my parents and I had enough. We've been involved with the police and they said I was old enough to live on my own - legally. I'm 16, go to high school in grade 12. I have a part-time job at a ice cream store, make $7.50. I've even called the kids help phone after I was beaten up and they said the child abuse center can make me live away from my family without any cost. I wanted to consider that, but I didn't want to live with some other family or in a room filled with other abused kids. I want to live alone and possibly with a friend of mine in a nice condo - about $1300 a month. At the same time, I want to save up at least $33,000 in 6 years for my future move-away to some other country so I can REALLY live on my own and start a career. Possible or no?

So my mom isnt unreasonably overprotective but she expects me to call every hour or so when im out...im 14. And she lets me out on weekends with my boyfriend and friends and such and she asks me to check in every hour...perfectly reasonable except she refuses to buy me a cell phone. My friends get kind of annoyed when i have to rotate and use up their minutes between their phones. I just wish that if she expects me to check in, which is fine, then she could at least provide me with the things in need to check in. I overused minuter in 7th grade and thats part of her phobia of giving me a phone. But thats when i was 12. Its been two years and ive proven to be responsible when i use her cell phone. Sometimes she lends me her phone but she cant all the time and I dont expect her too. Its just I need some help convincing her to get me a phone if she's so insistant that i check in!

9 years ago, my brother and his then current girlfriend had a daughter. Although they are not together anymore, I still try as hard as I can to be in the little girl's life, since I am her uncle. She is rarely brought over to our home, and she doesn't know us by name, only by the fact that her mom tells her I'm her uncle. Well, She recently started playing Baseball in a Kid's league, and I want to give her a gift that shows that I am encouraging her to play more, and to do things she loves. She also loves to skate, and I had bought her a skateboard for Christmas. I just want to know what I can get her to let her know that we care about her. I thought about a new glove, or a bat, but the fact that I don't know much about baseball, and what types are better, stalls me. What should I get her?

The allegations that she uses could turn out to ruining my good reputation. If it gets in the hands of someone of authority, then it could become a legal problem. To make a long story short, Our granddaughter had lived with us for two years before my stepson and his girlfriend moved in. our granddaughter is my stepson's little girl. He had asked us two years ago to watch over her due to hard times he was having. His girlfriend is not the mother, Her mother is nowhere to be found.Anyway, after they moved in , his girlfriend started making a big fuss over our granddaughter sleeping with my wife and I at night. My granddaughter is four years old. His girlfriend started a rumer that i was sexusaly molesting our graddaughter because she slept with us. She went blabbing her mouth to everyone on my wife's side of the family. Well they knew better, Because they know that i'm not that type of person. That is the god honest truth! To make such an accusation is demeaning, and evil for anyone to say
