My brother has a minor learning disability. he left school at an early age and since then hasn't hung around with anyone, he expects me to hang around with him all the time, but i'm older now and have my own life to lead and i'm planning on moving away soon. i've introduced him to a number of my friends but he just doesn't click with them at all, my sister thinks i'm over-exaggerating but i'm not and he wouldn't even visit her all that often unless i suggested it. we have suggested every social activity but he always goes for the hard-to-reach options. i'm upset because i really don't want to leave my brother in the dust when i go off travelling to other places for who knows what amount of time. he may not be capable of running his own home which means he will have to live-in with someone (it'll end up being me) when we are much older because i can't leave him behind forever either.

can anyone give me good advice on how to make my brothers life a little bit better??

My half sister was married shortly to her last husband and took on his last name. She in turn had the last name changed and given to her first daughter (she had by someone else) and the the daughter she had with my ex brother-in-law. They are divorced now and she was awarded custody of both kids. The thing is, she dropped the both of them off at my parents place right afterwards and now we're raising them (it's been over 9 1/2 years now). My parents aren't named as the legal guardiand, but she does not keep contact at all and did drop them off herself. There's no way to contact her; we don't even know where she is. Both of my nieces are now at the age where they're being questioned and teased by school mates on their last names because it's different from my parents. How do we go about changing it so that they have their grand parents last name? Is this even possible without my half sister doing it herself? Please help.

He is really my sister-in-law's boyfriend. They have been together about 4 yrs. His name is Chris. Anyway, this past Christmas we were at my father-in-law's house. Chris was drinking some long island ice teas. He was fairly drunk. He went out to his car to move it further up into the driveway to make room for more people to park. He scraped his side mirror on the back side of my truck bed. It left a good size dent and lots of black marks. He came inside laughing and told me about it, but I thought he was joking. A week later, I noticed the damage! Now all this time has passed, and no one has brought it up again. I want to trade in my truck fairly soon for a newer one. This damage will likely lower the value. Should I ask him to take responsibility for this or just take care of it myself? Has too much time passed? We all go camping together a lot during the summer, and I consider us close.

My mother and father divorced when I was 7 years old. He beat his wife and 3 kids, could never hold a job, stole rent money, left his family from months without a single phone call, missed every birthday, christmas, and graduation. On top of all of this he has kids (my age: 23) with another woman. He was pretty much the perfect dead-beat dad with a few extras thrown in. I have'nt spoken with him (nevermind seen him) in about 13 or 14 years.
He's dying alone in a Florida hospital of lung cancer. He's contacted my mother and told her everything. He has apologized and begged forgiveness. She forgave him.

I consider myself a strong minded individual, and have realized the fact that my father never has and never will be there for me.
The man is dying in a hospital and i feel nothing. I feel absolutely nothing. My mother thinks I should call him or even visit him. I feel i should too, but i really don't have anything to say to him.
Maybe i do feel something?

Why do people think that all illegal aliens do not pay taxes? Many are not payed under the table and use a ss# to withold taxes. At the end of the year they file for a ITIN and attach the W-2 to the ITIN application. If the W-2 has the bad SS# on it thats fine. The IRS does not give info to SSA or Immigration. Then they have a new number so they can use it in the future for tax purposes instead of someone elses ss#.

Hi, my mom recently moved the computer out of my sister's room and put it into mine. She moved it because my sister went to a counselor about how my mom would always stay up till 1 am almost every night surfing the web. Me and my sister are both college students. We need to sleep. My sister is 24 years old. My mother is a very unreasonable person. She has a lot of issues from when she was young. You cannot reason with her no matter how hard you try. In her mind, she is always right. When I ask her to get off the computer and let me sleep, she treatens to kick me out of the house. When I ask her how long it will be, she screams, "I don't have to answer to you!" Then she continues to tell me that I'm a waste of space and that she wishes she never had me. I tried to set up a schedule so she can write in when she wants to be in my room, but instead of writing on the paper, she tore it up. Then I asked her if she can be out of my room at a certain time every night, she refuses to answer me.

My grandson had his phone stolen at a party 3 weeks ago & my niece in law has just offered it to me in part payment of a kitten i'm selling. I want to get the phone back to my grandson without him knowing how i got it. how can i do that? I dont want to cause trouble for my nephew who had nothing to do with having the phone in the first place. it was my niece-in-law who was given it by a member of her family. my grandson would go mad if he knew & probably do someone damage & end up getting nicked. I dont want that to happen.

I need advice about my mum.We have totally different ideas when it comes to life.Im 18 and going to be leaving soon, she wants me to stay in the town im in, get a job preferably in a bank or as a teacher, not go to college, get a husband and a house close to where she is (we recently moved and now live 6 houses away from my older brother!!). Im planning on going to florida (i live in ireland) to be with my bf in september and be with him a year, i have already applied to my colleges and when i come back, im going to go to a college 300 miles away, i dont have any other plans apart from that because i dont think i could predict these things. The problem is she doesnt take me seriously, laughs when i tell her, saying i wont/cant do it, refuses to discuss me going away. How can i get her to listen to me and take me seriously and get her out of the denial she is in about me growing up and being able to do this and stop treating me like a child with grandiose ideas?? Thanks =)

I was very pissed with him at first but i forgave him because he was there for my sis till the day she passed. He & my family are still in good terms but it is very arkward when we see his girlfriend around. I hated this girl. To me, she is just a gold digger. How do I overcome this hatred over her?

Is there something that reminds you of a great time in your childhood? Example. I am 14 but through my whole life, the glamour of it was going to Argentina to visit my mom's family (which includes my cousins, which were sooo special to me.) My twin sister has the same feelings and the memories of the Argentinian family are triggered by smells such as newly cut grass, mate, or other smells that come out of nowhere but remind so well of our time(s) in Argentina with the family.

Anyone here have such a memory? If so, write down what things trigger the memory of it and exactly of what it reminds you of...

Thanks,
Chau!

According to my husband, my brother in law hates me. He hates me because I left my husband a while back, took the kids and packed my things and walked out the door. I warned my husband that I was not going to be spoken to the way he has and I would leave him if he continued. So I did. I put an order of protection against him because he threatened to hit me and I wasn't going to deal with it. I didn't know that the order would put my husband out of the house and allow me to come back to it. His brother hates me because of it. He only knows his brothers side of it so in a way he has reason to. Should I write him to let him see my side to let him judge for himself on who to believe, or let it go? Its hard to let it go and have him around when he comes and sees the kids or at family functions. Hes nice to me yet I was told by others its just an act of kindness. I can't live with the fact of someone hating me and faking niceness to be near my kids. My husband and I are back together and...
