Family - March 2007

So I've said before I adopted a son with mairrage at 18. He had previously lived with Grandma for about 3 1/2 months because of things my hubby was dealing with...When I became his Mom he was 8 Months. (he is now 2) He became a real mama's boy right away but than I got pregnant and because of some circumstances we had to move in with the mother in law...and he became super close with her again...We have moved back and forth a lot but now we are back with Grandma (next door neighbors) (I'm planning on this being our last move). And he always seems frustrated with me and just wants to be with Grandma all the time and she is so good with him and I'm super intimitaded its almost like I'm his older sister and Grandma is suddenly Mom.....I don't know what to do......Can anyone relate or tell me what I should do?? I am now 19 and a mother of 3 ( I had twins) and I can't give all my attention to him like I"d like too

Im 23 yrs old. My older brother is 38(big difference)..But we were so close..iv always looked to him as a second dad,and my role model.Hes always been there for me and helped me when i needed anything.He was married for about 5 years or so..he has a daughter now..shes GREAT. I love her so much. well him and his wife divorced a few years ago and now he has this new fiance that is just pure evil!!Shes very jealous and mean.My mom had a plaque on the wall that my brothers ex wife gave her one year for christmas and the fiance cursed my mom out for having it still.And my bro let her!He used to be a big mommas boy!So i said something to her for speaking to my mom like that,and she cursed me out bad.Made me cry.Now she hates us and i never see my bro or my little neice.She wont let me talk to her..she wont answer when i call her.Why is my bro lettin this woman destroy our family that was so great!?Im now pregnant and wanted to share this wit my bro and my neice..What should i do?I miss them.

Hi,I am presently 20 years old.My parents don't really abuse me or anything,but I hate them.For years I've been hating them.I need their financial help,so I've lived with them.After finishing my engineering course,which I am attending,I want to get rid of my family and all those responsibilities.I mean,I'll be financially independent so I won't need to depend on them.I'll never see their faces again.I think this is a good plan to get rid of my parents and family.What do you think?I know most of you are going to tell me this is betrayal,immoral and that I am thankless and so on,but don't I have a right to live my own life the way I want to?Why do I have to live with people I hate, against my will?As far as I know there is no law saying that people have to take care of their parents and family.Therefore I'm not doing any crime,so why can't I do this?
What are your opinions on this?Who supports me on this?

Mother was murdered in a kidnap/robbery 7 years ago in November. Father finished building thier dream house out in the country 6 yrs ago, that mom never got to see. Is in financial debt up to his ears, keeps making bad decisions, as to keep refinancing house, credit cards, overall stupid money-wasting decisions. Uses lack of money as excuse to not actively date (even though shows interest?), he is 30 minutes away from EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY. Feel that if he moves closer in town, he can be closer to his 3 kids, and thier families, his grandkids, my mother's family, and find a better job, and perhaps have extra money to spend instead of on a 4 bedroom house that no one uses except for him.
How do my aunt and I propose this of which is OUR better idea of life for him (better opportunity) without him feeling completely like everything he's done in 7 years is WRONG. He still goes to monthly Grief meetings....... help.

well im 17 and graduating from h.s. late june..and well i dont get along with my mother at all..we bump heads all the time for the reason that she still lives in the old times and wants 2 raise me the way they raised her..i get along with my father, he is the best person ever...he understands me more than my mother and i have a great relationship with him...the thing is that im close 2 graduating and i dont know wether to stay and live with her or if i get out of the house and go study abroad or somewhere far where i wont b with my mother..many say that i shouldnt do that because im just running away from my problems..its just that i cant live with her..and i cant wait to graduate b/c its my ticket for freedom..i have a bf hes 19 but i havent introduced him to my parents forthe same reason that my mother will hit me and call me things instead of being happy for me..he is my first bf and well..im really happy with him what can i do?????

I don't like eating infront of people because I eat way too much food and they probably think is weird that I eat too much and I'm still skinny.

Yesterday, my niece, my sister-in-law and I went to eat lunch outside. I eat what I can and my sister-in-law was shocked, she said, "I don't know about you being skinny, you sure do eat a lot."

That's why I want to hide and don't eat with no one. Should I keep hiding and eat alone?

I am in need of some good advice. I am engaged and 36 weeks pregnant. The father and I are not getting along at all, alot has to do with the fact that we barely knew eachother when I got pregnant. However, we did fall in love and everything appeared fine. For the past 3 months, we have had some serious arguments that I am having trouble letting go of. My mother and family want him gone, I belive this is so she may have the baby to herself.(She is very controlling) Every one that knows him tells me to get away while I can, Etc.... I know he loves me though. I can tell, he looks at me the way no other has looked, he holds me so gentle when we are alone, and speaks about nothing but the two of us building a life together. However, during our arguments, he kicks me out takes my phone my ring and the car. I cant risk this when I have a young baby in the world in four weeks. I am to see an apt. today that is unbeatable for its condition and price. But I love him... What should I do?

For years I've struggled to put up with it but now its getting too much.She never apologises and tells my children they should learn about my faults(as she sees it) from her.Its upsetting me but also my kids,they feel they're loyaltys split and they just dont want her to keep running me down.Apart from the odd,unpleasant phone call things have almost broken down completely.Dont know whether to keep trying to resolve it or just cut the ties to be free of the hassle and upset. I've never been close to her as she was cold and critical whilst I was growing up,but she's my mum and I have tried really hard.Any help really appreciated.Thanks

It's father's day here in Spain on Sunday 18th - I ordered my dad a special present a while back, and I have just got an email saying it won't arrive until Mon 19 or Tues 20th...

I don't want my dad to think I forgot about him or anything, how can I let him know we've ordered something special without making it look like a last minute attempt??

I own a legal parent/child dwelling. My family lives upstairs, he and his wife live downstairs. She drinks and is very abusive to him. I believe I can call the police and have her taken out of the house for the night, no? But, Can I throw her out permanently? Do I need to do a formal eviction, since this is not a landlord tenant situation? Or can I just pack her stuff and send her walking?

I know this girl named victoria. She is 14 and i am 12. My father in law is always including my brother in law in family activities. My brother in law has issues with drugs and alcohol and is a complusive lier. My father in law says we need to make him feel like he is part of a family, but my brother in law doesn't act like he wants to be a part of a family. He has been put in rehad and left he doesn't want to stop drinking.He has stole from us and in one of his lies claimed he was sexually molested, and then said he never said it. I have a 3 year old son that I don't want exposed to his lifestyle, he is gay and is self destructing. My father in law has now invited him to stay at my house when he comes to visit. My father in law did not ask and is upset with me for not wanting him in my house or around my son. My father in law continues to help him even though he continues to mess up. My father in law thinks he is changing b/c he has actually held a job for 6 months. It upsets me that I am the problem, and not my brother in law.

my sister came to my house with her boyfriend and was acting strange. her boyfriend was like "we have to tell u something" and she was like " no im not telling her". and then he was like "okay can u go upstairs while we talk to ur mom" so i went upstairs but obviously was eavesdropping on the conversation. so my sister was talking to my mom. she whispered the secret to her and my mom was like " ur kidding right?" and my sis was like "no im serious" and my mom asked "well how do you know?" and she was like "the doctor told me". and this is the biggest hint of all.. my mom said "but i thought u guys were using protection" and my sis said "i dont know, it just kinda happened". so do you think she's pregnant? or is there a logical explaination for all of this.

My children constantly fight at my house and remind me that I don't have all the cool "stuff" that their dad does. He says they don't fight at all when they're with him, and the problem must be me.

I don't make a lot of money and would like to move closer to my family, but my children don't want to move away from their dad.

As a mother, would you give up primary custody of your children and be able to live with yourself, in order to better yourself?

does anyone else have inlaws that seem to hate you? I swear no matter what i do these ppl just act like they hate me, unless of course they need something, then they can kiss butt like nobodys business. they talk about me behind my back and they just dont like me.
