I am a 16 year old guy, I have been wanting to run away for the second time for a long time. My mother tries to control me too much and she gives me way too many rules! She lives with her alcoholic boyfriend that drinks mouthwash and she wont kick him out, I have 220 dollars, I could get a greyhound, and go see my g/f in dallas, or go to ohio and see my 28 year old sister. I am tired of my mom controlling me. I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE. I will be 17 in july, only 17. What should I do? Should I hit the road??? My life as I know it will be no more,if I get caught and have to go back home! I will have no freedoms. Not that I do now anyways. I need some advice.

I did. My step-dad treated me terrible. After I moved out, he changed the locks on the door. He did things to my mother I didn't approve of, so I told him how I felt, and all he did was cuss me out. My mother is afraid to stand up to him, and lets him walk all over her, and my siblings. He even have his own bedroom. my siblings sleep on couches and the floor. I can't wait the day when he gets payback for all of this. Anyone have a story?

I know someone who's parents always seem to offer the "you can come home anytime" thing. Problem is their children are in their 30's, married, and have their own lives. Everytime something happens where it's rough awhile, they always say the option is to come and live at home for awhile. They always suggest things that don't help the situation...ie: Can't find a job, can't afford to go to school - yet they're saying go back to school?! Comparing this with families who don't ever do this - their kids are normal and don't have the problems the coddlers have. Don't parents see that it is detrimental to their adult children when they keep giving them a fall back? There will be a day when they're not there anymore, isn't better to prepare them for that? Do you find the majority today are coddlers to their adult children? My parents aren't coddlers, however, I know if I need their advice and ask them, they'll tell me what they think - but only if I ask them.

Me and my husband have been happily married for 8 years. We had 2 kids, one 4 the other 6.Three month ago my younger son Jordon passed away from cancer and it just about killed me.I wasn't dealing at all and left town a month after the funeral to stay with an ex-boyfriend/good friend to get myself together, leaving my husband and 6 yr old on their own.I stayed away for 3 months because I just couldn't deal with being at home where everything reminded me of my son.I came home last week and although my son was overjoyed to see me,my husband has barely said a word to me since I left.He begged me to come home whenever I called but I was never ready until now and now it seems it's too late and he can't forgive me for leaving.I don't believe in getting professional help. What do I do?

stay at home moms in 2007? i used to work, because of loosing almost all of our income to 3 bad daycares over my son's first year, i've been staying home for the last 9mo.
i feel as if i cannot please my husband in doing so. my staying home was just as much his idea as mine.
what do you feel are the most important jobs of a stay home mom? how do you feel about what she needs to get done around the house? how would/do you react if you come home and noctice something like the floors are dirty, or there are toys all over? how does/would it effect your esteem and financial planning to be the only one bringing income to the house?

my husband and i have 16 kids (8 [ 5 his , 3 adopted] from his side, 5 [ 3 mine, 2 adopted ]from my side, and 3 [1 ours, 1 adopted, 1 foster care] from after we married), and also my niece and nephew are living with us for a while. they range in ages from 10 mo. - 19. We were recently at the childrens shelter to see about adopting our 16 year old foster son, when we met a child (with a past I'll fail to mention) there named Brittany. She was 13 and i just wanted to wrap her in my arms and tell her that nobody would ever hurt her again. i know it's not possible to take in every orphaned or hurting child in the world, despite the fact that if i could i would, but should we consider taking her in. Money and room is not an option. we have plenty of both to care for our kids. but i don't know how the others would respond. my husband feels the same way i do, but is stilla little unsure. opinions, thoughts?

My dad died last year and my mother died when I was 28 yrs old. My ex husbands parents both died before my kids were 5. My dad was the only grandparent my kids knew..ever. My parents had me when my dad was 40 and my mother was 38.
Now dealing with my boyfriends family has become kind of weird. He is 54 yrs old and his mother is alive and still works. He had living grandparents up until about 4 yrs ago. His kids have grandparents, great grandparents, on both sides.
I am kind of jealous, but realize there is nothing I can do. I hope my kids have children while they are young so they can have living grandparents. Do you think that is strange?

My wife and I have been raising our grandchildren since birth, they are 3 and 4 yrs old. The Egg donor (mother) sees the kids a few times a week for a few minutes, she stays mostly unemployed,no car,no license, she is to disrespectful and dishonest to stay in our home. She collects a little bit of child support from 1 of the sperm donors (fathers) but keeps it for herself. One of the sperm donors pays a little bit of child support and sees the child about once every six months. he makes a lot of plans to see the child but doesnt show.
The other sperm donor pays no child support, has only seen the child maybe twice in his life stays unemployed to avoid child support. He is a known drug user and a real bum.

Are there laws that would give my wife and I custody. We cannot afford to pay the outragous amount of money that local lawyers want . We only want to protect the children.
We live in North Carolina
