How about having a picnic in a public park. That can be very fun.

Not to hard on the wallet hey....with 18 kids, it usually is hard on the wallet!!! :o)

Well, the first thing I thought of (like some others) is a park date. Bring picnic foods, games to play -- frisbee, baseball gear, jarts....,

The Smoky Mountain is free -- go enjoy the beauty and maybe have a picture contest. Give each kid a disposable camera and have them each take beautiful scenery pictures and then after you get them developed, have all the kids put them on poster boards and have them choose amongst them the top 3 winners.

Lots of school districts have open swim during the summer. Tends to run on the $1 per kid system.

The ZOO is always fun. I know they have family packages where I'm located. It's something to check into.

Or, as I've saved the best for last, go to an all you can eat buffet and eat them out of house and home!!! =D

I'll keep thinking for you.

visit www.modelaircraft.org

Find a local model club and ask when they will be having an event that is good for spectators. Pack a picnic lunch. Often the only charge is your gasoline to get to the field.

Its hard to find any events/activities that will interest that wide of an age range. You pretty well have to accept that the kids under 5 will end up bored and cranky.
