So we got a call the other day that my husband's Grandmother is on her way out (really soon). I plan on attending the wake & funeral with my husband. I am not close with his side of the family so I always feel uncomfortable talking to them about anything (especially someone's death).

I need some kind words to pass along to his step-mom at the wake (it's his step grandmother that is dying). They're not really religious (and neither are we) so I don't really feel comfortable mentioning God or heaven at all. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My kids are ages 9 and 12, I don't mind the older kids over that my kids actually play with, but the younger sisters come over, too,(ages 3 and 4), and I wind up babysittting them. How do I ask their parents to only send their older kids over without upsetting or insulting them? Is it even proper etiquette? We usually have 8-10 kids over ages 3 to 11, only the 3 to 5 year olds are driving me to insanity. I used to enjoy them coming over occasionally-it's every day now. I want to throw up when I see the litttle ones at the door. Help please.

I have two great kids (21mo and 4.5 yrs), a wonderful husband, and I am a full time student.

I want both more time with my kids AND less time with my kids.

I think I am just stressed from my workload.

Do other parents feel this way or is it just me?

I am in a situation where my estranged husband has requested that he have contact with our daughter 2 nights a fortnight and 1/2 the holidays. The problem is he is a shift worker and is not always available. He will also rely on other people to take care of our daughter. I do not agree because I think that if he wants the contact he should make it quality time with our daughter. I also do not feel that it is fair that he 17, or 20 year be told that they have to fulfill his obligation.l think that at the age of 17 or 20 they should be off doing their own thing and working.

I am writing a story on my mother and my father and how their relationship changed over time. My mother became more dominant and my father became much less overpowering and controling. My mom is always LYING and DRINKING!
I dont know how to avoid all that drama!!
She acts like the teenager in the family but I am the teen and all I do is stay home and watch over my brother and make sure he gets fed!
Im 18 yrs old so I could leave, but Im so confused!
Advice on how to talk to my mom?

Well lets see im am the exact OPPOSITE of quiet specailly at school im veryy loud..Then I relize that I guess the way I am its not a great thing like I don't really think before I say stuff how much I can really hurt somebodys feelngs I like being talktive but that gets me in troble so should I try being more quieter since I cant really control my actions?? ADVICE!!?

from tennessee is over, he is one year older [hes 14] and when we were outside he got a b o n e r. i was not flirting with him, ewww, i was being kind of a b i t c h because i am not happy about them being over. but now i am REALLY disturbed. yuck yuck yuck. he is still over, along with the rest of their family, and i dont know what to do. please help me.

Okay so me and my mom dont get along AT ALL!!
Im 18 yrs old so I could move out at any time. The only thing is, I only mak 6 bucks an hour at my job and my mom pays for a lot of my stuff and Im still in high school.
I just cant take it anymore, Im so unhappy with living with her and I dont have any friends that I can move in with or anything.
Any advice at all???!?!

I'm almost 22yrs. old and I live half-way across the country wih my boyfriend. My parents don't care about me at all. They don't talk to me and my mom right now is stealing my identity for her own happiness. They have always made my life miserable. My Boyfriend wants us to move to Iowa to be closer to his family. I have two kids from a previous marrage, and my mom would want to come with us. The only problem is that I would have to move away from my bestfriend. We all live in Minnesota, and I like it here, but I want him to be happy too. I know the cost of living is cheaper there, but I think Minneapolis is more fun. What to do??
Oh..and he did say he would want to have a baby when we are there, which I REALLY want. Maybe he's saying that to try to get me to go...

he has adopted my son, and we have a great family, but his ex, and all of his family have told the girls sooo much bad lies about me, they have no respect, and absolutely refuse to even speak to me in my house. is it wrong of me to ask my husband to spend time with them elsewhere

She doesn't call me on christmas or my birthday. She refuses to acknowledge me, lend me moral or financial support or even see me. I was an extremely abused child. My mother stood by while my father physically and emotionally abused me on a daily basis. She even used to get me loaded on pot and cocaine so I wouldn't feel it so much. As soon as I went away to college, she left my dad and took my brother with her. She has always done everything she could to keep me and my brother from being close. She has always tried to stop him/us from having a good relationship. I am having a terribly difficult time coping with all of this and cannot help but feel as though she is an evil and terrible person.

Me and my fiance have been together for almost 5 years and his brother has always been such a jerk. He just met this new girl(from a bar) and got her knocked up. They moved into this apartment and had a house warming party. I found out from my fiance's sister that lives in ny that they had this party without even inviting us. How rude is that. My fiance's own brother didnt even call him or his stupid gf didnt call me or invite us over. Instead they invited over there back stabbing grandmother, and the dead beat father. Tell me why you think my fiance's brother didnt invite us over there? I am a good person and i would think they would have atleast called. What a jerk and my fiance is pretty hurt by all of this.

My younger brother is always complaining that everyone in the family looks down on him but we are just trying to help him. He got a DWI and my parents came to bail him out. My parents even brought him a new car 2 years ago and he still gets money from tthem even though he has a job and is over 18. Since his DWI his been drinking heavily and his under 21 and my parents have taken his car keys. Everyday is a nightmare because his always causing some drama and telling people that his family does not care about him. I feel like I lost my brother, his not the same anymore and his drunk everyday. This means Im stressed out and frustrated all the time. I want to help him but he does not want to change. I dont want to give up so easily because his my brother. What should I do?

I can usually blow off the way people act towards me, but with my husband's family, I can't.

We celebrated my Mother in law's birthday last weekend with everyone there. His sister is married to a loser; his brother married someone who had a kid, got pregnant when they were casually dating, and recently gave birth to a 3rd child. His brother's wife held up the baby to his sister and told the baby to tell "Auntie" to give her a cousin. We're approved and waiting for adotpion. We also have not ruled out biological kids. Why does it hurt so much when they do stuff like this?

I'd also like to mention is that the only thing my husband and I ever fight about is the way his family treats me. I'm supposibly the "bad influence" on everyone and was uninvited to Christmas. My husband was invited and I wasn't. His brother told him to "grow some balls and come without me" He stayed with me where he belongs!
