I am feeling guilty, for no reason. I'm going to my aunts house in the easter holidays, and I have to take the train there. I'm going first class (so ill be ok....etc.) and my dad has paid quite a lot for the tickets, and for some reason I feel guilty when he didnt even mind paying for them. I just feel bad that he has to spend so much. I don't know why though. any suggestions/advice?

I have a 15 yr old daughter that lives with family. We have an estranged relationship right now . We were once really close, we would literally share everything. I was always honest with her about who I was and who I am.

4 yrs ago she told me her step-father was abusing her, so putting my life on the line I did what a parent is suppose to do. I turned him in and we got out. A very long story anyway, now she doesn't communicate with me as often as I would like, if any at all.

How do I begin to rebuild my relationship with her? She has told me she doesn't need or wants me me to be her mom but her friend. I know she has a good "mom" in my place for now , but how do I just be her friend ?

My new boyfriend is the sweetest guy ever. He's a senior and about 6'3" and I'm 5'5". He drinks alot and so do i. But when we're in school or anywhere for that matter he always clings on to me. He always says that he loves me and that he always wants to be with me. I've known him for about 8 or 9 years and I'm also in love with him. But the thing is that he spends way to much money on me. Like expensive restaurants, jewlery, anything. He says that he loves me and that he wants to spend alot of money on me but in a way I feel uncomfortable about it. I know he loves me but is he going over the top. And plus he's also rich.

I've always felt like my family has been ganging up on me. But it's gotten really bad lately. I feel like that mostly because I made decisions and wanted to do things that they didn't approve of. It's not like I did drugs or choose a risque career. My brother's Mock Trial team just made it to state this year and now I'm getting the constant, "that's what you should've done". I choose marching band in high school and my parents pulled me out after 2 years because they didn't like the teacher. My brother joined ROTC and is currently an Ensign in high school, I joined a rock band and competed in talent shows.
Plus I caught my brother looking at stuff he shouldn't be looking at last year and he got off with a slap on the wrist. When my parents found out I had an eating disorder in high schooI got scolded heavily.
I really just want my family to know how I feel. My brother has constantly been telling me that I fail in everything I do and that I'll fail in everything and my parents

I have a very controlling daughter-in-law . Yes, we have all been to counseling. We respect the fact she is our only child's wife and the mother of our granddaughter, but we feel we really don't have a daughter-in-law. Yes, we have done nothing but try to welcome her into our family. Her main goal is to keep our son and granddaughter away from his family and friends. Yes, he loves her so we keep quiet but have talked to him about our feelings, with and without a counselor. The counselor has addressed her behavior but she refuses to change or admit it. There is so much awful talk about mother-in-laws but there are those of us to truly try to do everything right. They live about an hour away from us so we do not get to see them often. There is a "best friend" attachment with her mother (they live 2 miles apart) and she seems to always come first. Just looking for mom's in the same situation. There really are good mother-in-laws out there who really try.

My husband and I bought a new house and then my aunt basically forced my cousin to by one exactly like ours, but with more upgrades. They have not been invited over to my new house but have tried to invite themselves over 7 times in 1 week (we just moved in last week) and they have even showed up at a restauraunt nearby and called to let me know they were in the area. Luckily I was not home! It just hurts my feelings that they are not supportive like a family should be. My husband, mother and I try not to play these games, but it is becoming impossible! They always have to be one up on me and it is getting worse as we get older. Help!

this is a serious question, i have this wonderful partner and have been with him for 11 years, we did live together but his snoring got that bad, we both decided that he moved out...sounds corny but it worked and we are still together....thing is when he comes to stay he snores so loud that it keeps me awake all night, i try to wake him but it just gets louder and louder... sometimes i get only 2 hours sleep at night and i think it's staring to affect my health because i am so tired all the time, i have tried to get him to get it treated but he insists that he does not snore....all joking aside though, does anyone else here have a partner who snores and how is it affecting your life/health, has it broken up your relationship? has it caused fights? i only have one bedroom in my home so most of the time i sleep on the couch...bless his heart, i love him staying over but i just cannot deal with it any more... it's getting me down, and i am so tired all the time, we even fight over it

The ex wife tells my stepson i can't watch him, and talks about my husband and i in a negative way. i make a point NOT to talk bad about her infront of my stepson so i won't be "talking bad about mommy" but it is causing tension with my husband and i. i feel he should say something to her, but he doesnt want to cause conflict or risk not seeing his son. anything i can do?

My brother and I are ten years apart in age (i'm 20, he's 10). I was a huge Daddy's girl when I was little because while my mother worked days in an office, my father would take care of me because he worked nights playing piano at clubs. He got me into all kids of sports and activities and practiced all of them with me. When I turned 10 and my brother came along, I was very excited because I knew I could teach him the same things Daddy taught me. However, my brother never got the loving touch Daddy gave me. It was like my brother's birth turned my father into a nightmare. My mother and I raised my brother because my father stayed locked in his room at all hours. When he became old enough to play and understand baseball (about 6 or 7), I asked my father if he would help me teach him. He went out with us maybe once or twice. I want my brother to have the same kind of fun memories and experiences I had. How do I get them to have a meaningful father-son connection?

I am 30 years old and still get scolded, lectured, etc. I would like to have an adult mother/daughter relationship with her but she won't let go of this need to talk to/at me as if I'm a child. She tells me what I need to do with my money, my career, etc. I'm a succesful professional and live in a nice home that I own. A few months ago she explained to me what a yeast infection was. When I let her know that I was already aware of them and had been for some time she patronizingly said "well i guess you're all grown up now". I fight the urge to scream at her because I don't want to act like an angry teenager (I'm sure she would love that.) We spend time together a few times a week, and each time we are together she complains that we never do anything together. I just don't know what to do anymore. (I know I'm not the only one with this problem; and there is probably no solution, but I wouldn't mind some words of advice).

Hello. I was wondering, does anyone have a family where they don`t talk to you or they`re not close with one another? My family never calls or writes to me. My mom only emails me when I email her first. Why are families so cruel sometimes? I`m sick of being isolate and alone.
