Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it more of a homemade feeling.

I am haviving the same problem and you know what i said to myself, " She is your mom and there should just be this thing she likes so much and you are suppose to know". That did the magic last mothers day and she still cherishes this gift uptill today and this year i intend to go higher than waht i got last year. So my friend think very well and find out that thing She loves so much that you can afford and get it for her. Mind you it should not be something that is perishable let it be durable and last long for her to look at everyday. And she will always say "you are tyhe best son any one can have".

You can get a new photo of yourself (or other family members or meaningful things/places for her) and put it into a nice frame for her. You could get her a gift certificate for a massage or spa so that she can have a day just for herself. If there is something that she's passionate about (gardening, music, books) you can get something related to that specific interest (for example, planting bulbs for her garden, or tickets to a concert). The thing that will make her heart melt is if you do something that directly relates to her interests and desires, it tells that you really pay attention to what she likes and that you also took the time to put thought into something special for her. I hope this helps.

I have a son and if he could (he's still too little) I would rather have him do all the housework and cooking and let me relax on Mother's Day. I would remember it forever that he was considerate enough to help me. Moms always need help.

Are you in school? Bring her home an honor roll report card around that time, give her tickets to a movie or play and dinner, or let her dress up, limo ride her, and take her shopping somewhere that she loves or has always wanted to go. One of these should do it.

cheesy: compile pictures of you and her since your childhood, and then turn it into one of those photo-books where the pictures are printed in the actual pages like a book, complete with labels and what-nots instead of a normal album. it's priceless!!!
