My father committed suicied in June of 06. I'm 22 years old, and I was just wondering if you have been through a similar situation, how long does it take for you to kind of get back to normal, even though I don't think I will ever be back to "normal"

i have little to no friends because of my family (see previous question for family details). long story short, 18 kids live in my house, plus my parents. every time i try to make friends, when they find our about my family, they drop me faster than the speed of light , and then the rumors start. i really don't know why, what's wrong with having a large family? and don't get me wrong, i love my sibs and cousins. i wouldn't traid any of them for the world. i love my family, as crazy as we are. and i'd take family over friends in a heartbeat, but that doesn't mean i don't want friends.nobody even gets to know me. if we moved into your neighborhood, would you label me as a freak, or give me a chance?

my older sister and my dad are always going at it. they literally fist fight with each other and it really is very up setting ecspecially with my baby sister in the house. just the other day they were going at it in my moms room while she was at work and while i was trying to break it up, me and my baby sister got knocked to the floor. that same night i called the police and my dad ended up going to jail. he gets out in a couple of days. my sister is 18. do you think it was a good idea to call the police and have my dad go to jail even though my sister was the one who started the whole fight in the first place. (she got caught having sex in my parents room).

I know most mothers are kind and loving. Absolutely, only few mothers are too selfish to love her daughters. So, I'm asking a small population of those in this situation - Does it hurt deeply? Does the hurt last a life-time? How do you cope with it? How do you forgive your mother?

who refuse to pay child support? As it stands right now if you dont pay child support all most places do is cancel your driving privileges, you cant get a passport, send you to collections and take your tax returns. Very few parents who dont pay go to jail for non payment. And those with suspended or cancelled licenses dont care and drive anyways. What would make a person take care of their responsibilities?

What can the government due to help collect the monies owed to the children not currently receiving child support from parents who were ordered to do so? Or do you feel there is to much control over it already?

My dad and mom devorced when i was 6. My dad remarried about 7 years ago. His new wift April seemed real sweet and was my favorite babysitter for a long time. there is a 15 year age difference between the two of them, and a 12 year difference between her and i. I've alwaysed lived with my dad. Things havent ever been good with us after they were married but recently her hatred towards me has grown. She kicked me out in october w/o my dad knowing. Cleaned out my room no seets towels shower curtains light bulbs bed side tables NOTHING. My dad and April also have a 3 year old son. I quit talking to my dad and april in December to so i could heal myself mentally and emotionally. I talked to my dad and went and visited my dad and little brother about a week ago and April was flying (shes a flight attendent). When she called and was told that i was there she flipped. I've done nothing but try my hardest to please her. I even changed who i was to be more like her. but nothin works

There was a little boy whose mother was about to have a baby. One day, the little boy walked in and saw his mother naked. He asked his mother what the hair between her legs was.

She responded, "It's my wash cloth."

Weeks later, after the mother had her baby, the young boy walked in on his mother again. While she was in the hospital, the doctor had shaved her pubic hair.

The boy asked, "What happened to your wash cloth?"

The mother responded, "I lost it."

The little boy, trying to be helpful, set out to find his mother's washcloth.

A few days later, he ran to his mother yelling and screaming, "I found your washcloth."

The mother, thinking that the child was just playing, went along with the boy and asked, "Where did you find it?"

The boy answered, "The maid has it! She is washing daddy's face with it."

My husband has a framed picture of his grandmother right before she died. She was a very sweet lady, but in the picture she's about 80 years old and looks a little confused and I must admit it's kind of creepy looking. He loves his grandma so I feel bad not having the picture out but my kids cover their eyes to walk past it.. Do you think I should move it to the bedroom?

Here's my problem. I have an eighty-six year old Grandmother living with some room renters in her house down in Orange County, Cal. These renters are shady characters, the house itself reeks of dog urine and mouse excrement, and my Grandma's diet in general consists of pizza and chinese food. My family and I have tried to convince her to move to a apartment complex near where we live (Napa, CA), but she seems tied to her current way of life. She complains that no one comes to see her, but that's because she expects everyone to come to her and not the other way around (she has cancelled many a flight to visit us).

As a full-time student with a job, I can't afford any time to drive down south and resolve this problem. My mother plans to, with some vacation time she has, and hopes she can convince Grandma to move. This has been an ongoing problem for years. Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreaciated.

I'll try to keep as much to the point as possible, but she's crap. We live over 100 miles from her, and she hasn't come to see her son's new house since we moved 5 months ago. She doesn't buy him a birthday present, or anything at all for xmas (bearing in mind the 2 from next marriage get lavished with gifts). She's quite happy to just take from him, and does nothing in return. No help with new house at all, not even a token wine glass which would have been a nice thought. But I heard him on the phone to her the other night saying we would drive down (again), and take her for a meal! And we aren't exactly loaded due to new house. He said why don't you come and see the new house, and she said she can't because her dogs won't want to travel that far, so she's basically told him she's not going to visit ever. Why is he so desperate for her approval when she's just not interested. I'm biting my tongue at the moment but really mad! And this is just 1 small example.

I am a nurse and make good money. I also receive a pension from my husbands death. I give half of it to my son because he is in college. He thinks half of it is his and he deserves it. He is grateful that I give it to him but really, it is expected because (he says) I left his dad. (his drinking killed him and us) I also have a boyfriend I love a lot. I pay all the bills and he only pays half the rent. I am ok with this but sometimes I feel like they just go on with their lives happy and don't even really appreciate what I do for them. My boyfriend has been off work with his back and has been grumpy but it always gets turned around to where he thinks I am the grumpy one. I work harder that they do by far. I work 12 hour night shifts in a ccu. It seems like they think I have the life of luxury and get paid all this money for practically no effort. Am I just feeling sorry for myself or should I expect more from them? I know it is my own fault... but why do I feel so unappreciated?

I am going to ireland to be with my fiance and take care of all the paperwork involved, so that my son and i can come there permanently. I am staying the 90 days allowed by law and my son is staying with my parents so that he can finish school, he's in kindergarten. My relationship with my mother is very strained, with my father it is fine, just wondering what i should do, so that i don't come back to custody papers or something worse like child abandonment.

she has that look about her again. like she's thinking about one thing and only one thing. the only other time she's had that look was (1) a month before we adpoted my 10 year old bro Jake and (2) right before we took my 16 year old bro Derek in foster care. what are the odds she thinking about another poor lonely kid who needs a family? i have mixed feelings about this. 18 kids already live in our house (it's a long story, search previous questions and put 2 and 2 together if you're at all interested). another kid would be another person hogging the shower, but yet again, i love my sibs, wouldn't trade them for the world, maybe this one is a girl. i just want to know how old he/she is. how can i ask her? what if there's not even a kid and i'm jumping to conclusions? watch should i do?(and just n case your wondering, i'm 17)
