she has that look about her again. like she's thinking about one thing and only one thing. the only other time she's had that look was (1) a month before we adpoted my 10 year old bro Jake and (2) right before we took my 16 year old bro Derek in foster care. what are the odds she thinking about another poor lonely kid who needs a family? i have mixed feelings about this. 18 kids already live in our house (it's a long story, search previous questions and put 2 and 2 together if you're at all interested). another kid would be another person hogging the shower, but yet again, i love my sibs, wouldn't trade them for the world, maybe this one is a girl. i just want to know how old he/she is. how can i ask her? what if there's not even a kid and i'm jumping to conclusions? watch should i do?(and just n case your wondering, i'm 17)

tree70. my parents always tell us when they are taking in a new kid, family meetings are held every time. mom and dad talk it over and pray and decide if they personal can afford it and then they gather us around and we discuss it and then they go to social services or whatever. right now, i think my parents are in the "talking it over stage". i'll prolly find out soon enough. but i wasn't blessed with the patience my mom has.

I think that you should be honest with your mother and just ask her "mom you have that look about you again, are you thinking of adopting another child?" And make sure you dont sound like you are just totally against it. Reason with her and explain your feelings on the matter and let her know that maybe you would like her to take in a girl that you can connect with and also help with emotionally. I personally think that what your mother is doing is great, we need more people like that in todays world who care about children who need loving and caring homes. It means a lot to these people to have a family and you mom deserves an award for taking in 18 children. God bless her to the highest!! I would look at your mother in a positive way. If she has the love to pass around it dosent mean that she loves you any less, it just means that she would like to spread that love as far as she can. Love your mother she is a great human being!!

Let me get this right ,Your parents start taking in other kids without asking the other members of the family? I would say she is a very selfish person not taking in how the rest of the family members feel about it and not even discussing it with you, It's not right in my opinion for her to make such a huge decision without talking it over with the entire family. Its just not for her to say oh by the way we are adopting another kid it is so ignorant. I would say just ask her point straight out . If she asks why? Just be honest with her, and tell her how you feel about it then say Thanks-for listening!

I think you should flat out ask her. You have a right to know, another kid affects your life just as much as it does hers. You're old enough that she should involve you in this type of a decision, especially if the child is young enough to warrant you taking your time to help care for him or her.

Maybe just go up to her when she looks like she is thinking, and ask her what she is thinking about. If she isn't as open to you as you wish, maybe you should just come right out and ask her, are you thinking about adopting another one. Let her know that you are interested and that you would like to be apart of the decision. She might respect that you are trying to help.
