My daughters are 9 and 6 years old. They fight more than they get along. My older daughter doesn't act as though she loves her sister. She doesn't look out for her like my sisters did for me when I was a kid. Isn't that what big sisters are supposed to do? She is moody and never wants to be bothered by her little sister. Now my youngest is no picnic...lol. She can be obnoxious and loud, but in a playful sort of way. They both just have such different personalities that they often seem to clash. I want them to be close and to be friends. I have two older sisters and growing up it was us against them(the parents). My girls don't seem to have that bond....they can't wait to tattle and get the other in trouble. Am I doing something wrong? How can I help them become closer???

Okay so my ex picked up our son friday night, he decided to go to work saturday instead of practicing his visitaion. I called and found this out told the inlaws i would be picking my son up. I was told No. I also have sole custody. When i got their my inlaws were screaming and yelling in front of my child. It smelt as if my farther inlaw was drunk. My mother inlaw grabbed my farther inlaw by the shirt trying to pull him in the house and he turned around a swung at her with his fist to hit her. All the while my son was standing in between the two of them. I grabbed my son and called 911 when this happend. I am not sure if i can file a restrianing order or not. Is this child endangerment or neglect?

we are trying to plan our oldest son's bday (he'll be 5). My husband is stuck on having it at a place that will handle everything. But it is a little costy and they only allow us to be there for 2 hours. I, on the other hand, want to have it at the local park. It is A LOT cheaper and the kids will enjoy themselves longer then 2 hours.

how do I convince him to have it at the park?

My daughters father is very screwed up.

I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT TYPE OF DAMAGE COULD HE HAVE DONE to her emotionaly?

My daughter was touched by her dad one time. It was very bad for her. She woke up and found him rubbing her private areas. It has not ever happened again, and we are not with him. He has supervised visitation thru his sister. Her theripist says him being around her causes her more damage emotionaly. She gets mad at the idea of not being with him. Her theripist says she may have what is called trauma bond. She is now 13, and has seen him hit me and knows that she is not the only one he did this too. I want visitations stopped. The courts don't agree. I hope this gets resolved soon because I have a young daughter and son he is around also.
Please any advise that can help!!!!!!

Summary: Brought up in household with drug addicted parents. As the eldest child, I spent most of my childhood and teen years taking care of my sisters and everything else. When I left for college, there was a backlash from my sisters. When they did not have a place to go, I moved out of the dorms and took three months off from school to get an apartment. Today, they are both doing pretty well. One has a great job and her own apartment with her two daughters and boyfriend. The other is heading to a top medical school with her boyfriend. I've always been there for them. The only thing I ever wanted from them is to get the same loyalty they show their boyfriends & friends. My sisters go out of their way to do things with them, spend time with them, and help them out.
Anyway, I went through a major depression point. I tried to tell my family what I was going through. They weren't there. They were too busy, etc. My sister tells me today that 'u got everyone kinda scared to talk to u'. wth

I moved to FL about 10y ago from PA where my parents, grandparents and other family live. When i left, my grandparents were full of life and very healthy. Since then, my great uncle (whom i think of as a father) has suffered a stroke, and the health of my grandparents, now in their 80's is deteriorating. Being in Florida, I feel like I am letting down my family by not being there to help take care of them. Although my grandmother/grandfather will sometimes say something like "I wish you were closer", they vocalized their understanding that I am starting a new life in FL. I have a wonderful new son (almost 7mo) who is the joy of my life and although he makes me very happy, I almost feel guilty that I am enjoying life/family without my parents/grandparents, ect. How can I find peace within myself. Just yesterday, I felt a sense of panic about their safety (or because of my own inability to be near them). How can i overcome these feelings? I love FL but I miss them so much.

I moved here on a Friday and his ex died on Sat. His family knew she was a bad mom and wife but got to know and like her over their 15 years. They didn't get to say bye to her or go to the funeral. But here I am in the middle of it all. His sister-in-law apologized for blowong me off in the beginning, she said she liked Shelly. But nobody includes me by calling or inviting me to go along with them when my fiance is at work. Should I just wait it out or what?

My mother is driving me crazy! I am 6 months PG/ with 2 children. She comes over and trys to help. Well, her help leads into a war! I am stressed out and cried out! Today was it for me. I sent her home. I feel she doesnt listen and has no communication skills. She is very frustrating to talk to. She has been single for about 30 yrs and only has herself to deal with. Thats why she doesnt understand communication. She does what she wants and doesnt listen when I try to explain simple tasks like the baby food in the microwave, or dont leave the baby in the high chair by himself (she'll walk away), she cant take criticism and will fight for hours. I tell her dont talk with her mouth full and she still does. To me its not lady like. There is just too much! Has anyone else had this experience. My mother was born in another country and I pretty much handle all her bills, I write her checks out, ablance her checkbook, make DR. appts....etc. BUT no more.
She has STREESED me out.
