ok well my sister and I have been going back and forth because of this...I think my sister in law's baby boy ( my sister's husband's sister's baby) would be my nephew too. but my sister says no only her nephew. is there some rule or something about like the relationship I have to other people? thanks for settling our argument.

Unfortunately the baby is only your sister's nephew. Your not directly related to the baby. Your sister is married to the mother's brother, so if your sister were to have never married him, then the baby wouldn't be related to her. But this doesn't mean you can't still love and cherish the baby. You can be an honoree aunt and still be apart of his life.

No, you cannot be this Baby's Aunt, because she is your Sister's, Sister-in law, so, your Sister is the only Aunt of her Husband's nephew. But, there is nothing wrong if your Sister's Sister-in-law would consider you special and would want you to be her son's Aunt as well. That is very considerate, of you for wanting to be this Baby's Aunt as well. I'll bet you would be a very Good Aunt to the baby. Good Luck to you.

Technically the baby is your sister's nephew by marriage only. He would not be related to you at all. It is nothing to argue about though. If you are all close just refer to him as your nephew too.
I was not close to my husband's family and we very seldom saw them. They did not know my sister, so of course she did not think of my husband's nephew as hers. She did not even know him.
Every family is different, but technically your sister is correct.

I don't know whether or not there is a societal "rule" or not. But, if you guys have a relationship, I don't see any reason why he couldn't call you his aunt. He would probably be considered your nephew-in-law.

She is not YOUR sister-inlaw! Your sister's husband's sister is her sister-inlaw not yours. The boy would be your sister's nephew, by marriage. You have no relation to that family except that your sister's husband is your brother-inlaw!

You are not related to your sister in law or her sister by blood so you are not his aunt.

The child is not related to you in any way.
Your sister's husband is your brother-in-law. His family is not related to you at all. (They are you sister's in-laws, not yours)
Incidentally, the one who just had the baby is not your sister-in-law, either.
