Family - January 2007

I plan on working a lot over the summer to get the money I need, and at the same time finish the basic courses at a community college in town, and then apply to UNLV, but I want to pay in state, therefore I need to live there for at least 6 months..(last time I checked) I' am looking for a roomate so, any good websites..or what do you recommned? Thanks.

I have been in a relationship with my partner for the past 5 years, we have had many ups and downs, generally we are ok, however my family doesnt like him, they hardly speak to me because i am with him, and say hurtful things, my family arent well off, but we work hard and are comfortable and are buying a house and starting a family, and i dont understand why they dont like him as he looks after me and things are good, mabye its because we have a few fights here and there but who doesnt, but i am treated like the dirt beneath their feet, while my brother who is in serious trouble and looking at a jail term and is on parole for serious crimes. is treated like a god in my parents house, and they support him, my parents let my siblings smoke drink and all of them have tatoos and they are all under 18, I am always there for them, i help them all and also show up to all my brothers court appearances and drive him around, as i do for my other siblings. why do they treat me like this?

my narcissistic mum told me that if i see her often and be a good daughter, she 'might' give me some inheritance, although she said she may change her mind. Howver my sister the 'golden child'' has already received her share of inheritance. i am in late 20's, living away from her, all my life i am abused by this cruel women emotioanlly and physcally, what should i do? my dad has died 3 years ago due to long term stress of living with her

me and my fiance have been together for a year and three months. were getting married april 21st. im 18 hes 20. were wanting to move in together...but the thing is my parents are saying that i cant (i still live with them) until i get married. theyre are saying that it looks bad and that we have to be married before together. i think this should be mine and my fiances decision. but like always they are butting into our business. i would just go ahead and do it but theyre are saying that if i do, they are not coming to my wedding and that my fiance wont be welcome to their house and all this crap..im so stressed about it. are they being unreasonable or am i? does anyone have any advice they can give me or tips that i can talk to them about?

i have been raising my 5 yr old sister since my dad left a year ago (my mom died when my sister was born). i dont know how to deal with this though. the counselor we are supposed to have is off duty for a month and her boss is a flippin idiot. i dont know how to control this child though. she wont eat, she wont listen, she bites me, she throws herself on the floor. of course she is my sister so i cant (well i can but i wont) give her over to someone else. i just need help on how to control her.

I feel as though my sis recieves more attention that me. Im not sure if its cos shes beautiful and people ultimately tend to be drawn towards a pretty face in contrast to well an ugly one or whether its just cos im not as interesting. Im not jealous one bit if you were wondering, its not like i want all the attention i just find it weird that its evident that more time is spent on her. Thanks in advance :)

im being put in the middle of my brother baby momma drama and i dont know what to do. my brother is 20 and im 15. my brother got 2 girls pregnant he dont go with one no more and 1 girl had a baby last year in 2006 and the other girl is havin her baby in april and i just seen my nephew for the 1st time last nite (i only seen 2 pics of him) and now i feel like just because my brother is havin problems with his 2 baby mommas im been put in the middle of it. my mom is mad at me and both of my brother baby momma's is mad at me now. i dont know what to do.....i tired of my brother not growin up and bein a man. he wont handle his biz....i dont know what to do. i put my nephew pictures on myspace and i got in trouble for doing it. any advice....please

I have a 20 yr old "bonus" child. I've raised her since she was five. We had a decent relationship, things were going really well and all of a sudden she sends an email spewing all sorts of hatred, that she doesn't believe in God (we are a very Christian family), that she was abused (which never happened), and she is trying to pit my husband and I against each other. I have done nothing but love this child as if she were my own since I got her, we've always had a good relationship and this came out of the blue. I love her dearly, but she has 4 younger brothers she is trying to negatively influence, even going as far as telling our 15 yr old to emancipate himself from us. This all happened this past weekend, prior to this she was our pride and joy. Now we aren't sure what to think or what to do. We try to talk to her, she screams profanity in the phone and won't listen. Her allegations are made up. What could this be and how do I handle it?

at first my step dad was loving and kind and then he was starting to be more firm and now it seem since ive turned 12(im almost 14 now) hes been so cruel like everything i do is wrong like i was crying one day and told mom i didnt feel like talking when she asked whats wrong and she told him and he gave me a LONG lecture and threatened to give MY DOG away to someone because im irresponsible and dumb(might i add im the only one who look after my dog feeds walks train play ect) is it verbal abuse when my step dad call me stupid (like every day) and yells at me for no reason or for not putting the dishes in the dishwasher right? and im old enough to know to do things when im told but he still yells at me for not doing them his way ive tried talking to btoh of them but now my mom is starting to be like him to what do i do i really hate him he makes me fell like a worthless peice of crap?

My dad has been sick for 5 years now and i have only know for about 2 months. I am 14 years old and i dont want to lose him. My dad is a very strong and positive person and my step-mom has been very upset but my dad always says everything is going to be ok, the other day my father looked at me and my step-mom and said "I am dying" and it scares me. The thing is that the parent who doesn't know is emotionally and sometimes physically abusive to the parent who is cheating, so I feel more sympathy towards the cheating parent. But I still feel bad for being stuck in the middle. I don't know what to do!!! Who should I tell, if anyone? By the way, I'm seventeen, if that matters.

use to give me when she was mad or wanted to argue with me but now she has alzheimers and she has been living with me for the past 5 years. I have 3 sisters who abandoned her and have nothing to do with her but she always talks good about them and their children but my mother doesn't even talk to my children who are 3 6 8 and they think she is weird. All ahe does is stare at us all day while we wait on her hand and foot and either she acts snaughty towards us or she is sick and wants us to baby her. I can't do it anymore. I don't want to baby her and feel sorry for her, I have my own problems, she is one.My sisters just threw her out but yet i took her in and she is hateful to me. This is awful for me to feel like this, isn't it?

I´m visiting my father for a few days and the last time I did it, I had a very nice room but now he took my grandma to live with him and his new wife ,and she took that room. Last night when I asked him where am I gonna sleep, he said the neighbour is gonna lend them a futon. I´m concerened because the neighbour´s sons had the chicken pox two months ago and somebody told me I could get the pox if the futon is contaminated and I´m not immune. The thing is that, I´m kind of an HIPOCONDRIAC! and I don´t want to sleep in that futon, what should I do??? how do I tell my father, he is gonna think I´m crazy!!! (ok, I admit it, I AM alittle crazy).

I have always been a spoiled girl with a bad temper. Thing is, I don't like to admit it. At first, I gave my mom attitude because I felt like she was stressing me out but she wasn't and I was the one who got her stressed with my whole attitude thing. Therefore, she yelled at me because of that and for all those previous times that was similar to what happened. I knew she did that to get the problems off her chest but I still cried because what she said was the truth: I was spoiled and I acted like some immature jerk. Later on, my mom calmed down a bit and she tried to discuss the problem with me and that she actually cared for me. So, things are better now except she's expecting me to improve myself.

The question is... how am I to change myself into a better person? I'll need to take small steps but I don't know how to start and my life is already a bit stressful for me with my academics and social life. Please help me to become a better person! Thanks.

i have been dating this divorced guy for over 3 mons now and before it gets any farther i want someones opinion on this.he was married for 7yrs with a child that he adoors.hes the best/loving dad i have ever seen.the problem is he cheated on his wife not once but 2x and finally left her for an old gf(not me).he told me his wife was so bad to him she drove him to cheat.i will say in the 3 short mons i have known him he has been nothing short of wonderful/accommodating to her but she has made his life a living hell.example i heard her call him a f-cking a-shole in front of thier 5 yr old child and he just walked away.i asked him if she was so bad to u why did u not leave.he said when u have a child its not that easy u want to make it work.what do u guys think can a controlling wife make u cheat or did he make her that way from all his cheating/lieing on her?

i too have the same problem with my 7yr old son on the weekend.he always begs me to stay up and play and will say things like theres no school tomorrow so i can sleep in.mind you i don't let him stay up till 1 am but he does stay up till 11 or so.i would like to hear from other parents what time would you put a 7yr old down on the weekends?how about a week night?
