my sister is having self confidence issues at the moment because she has a picture of me in her purse and all of the guys she likes always tell her how hot i am and whatnot. she says that she thinks all the guys she likes wants me instead. she says she doesn't feel pretty compared to me and whatnot.
she's 15... soon to be 16 and i'm 20.
i try telling her that i had self confidence issues when i was her age and then i grew into my looks and body finally.
she's a little larger than me but carries it really well.
she's a beautiful girl and just a doll to be around.
i know she'll grow up to be beautiful but i can't make her see it right now.
i'm not like forcing words down her throat that aren't true or anything.
and i've even cracked jokes about it to lighten her up by saying hey look on the bright side you don't look like kevin (our brother)
can i help her overcome this or is it something she'll do in time?

man, my sister's been going around bragging about coming down to see me and how much of a perfect sister i am cuz i told her i'm celebrating her bday a few weeks early cuz she'll be down here and it'll be a time she won't forget. starting to stress me out cuz i don't know if her bday give will be "perfect" for her.

a poem i wrote her framed up nicely
a charm bracelet with charms representing her favorite things: shoes, writing, music, shopping, love ect...
a day away at the spa for the whole nine yards: massage, pedicure, manicure evertything.

she's 16 is that a 16 year old's idea of a "perfect" bday? i don't even remember what i liked when i was 16 and i never celebrated my bday either.

I have 2 beautiful girls to 2 different fathers, the eldest has visitation on weekends every fortnight and that works, is sorted. the youngest - 6months, her father lives an hour away and he wants to alternate weeks - i have one week and he has the other. i can understand his want and need and love to want to spend as much time with his daughter and i want to fully support and help him foster a wonderful and positive relationship with her. But i think week on and week off is too much for a 6month old, babies need stability and a set routine, yes they can adapt but they stil need routine, i have suggested with him that her have every fortnight from friday to sunday - until he moves back to where we are, this is his decision and goal - then once she is a little older and more familiar of him, then it can move up to sleep overs and then shared custody. please i reallly want to know your opinions on this, my head is reeling from it!
thanks :)

our niece & nephew are now 19 & 20 yrs. old , I think they are too old to get Christmas gifts anymore, but we still give them cash anyway. At what age do you stop giving
gifts or do you always give no matter how old the person
is ?

THANKS

Well 1 week ago was the final day in an apartment that me, my husband and my 3 year old son have been living in for years. We were evicted...Not only is that a bad situation for me and my family but I have a baby girl on the way and due in 3 monthes. Fortunitly I work at a very nice hotel and they are letting us stay here for a month so that we can get back on our feet. Well I have to work 2 extra days a week for free to cover the fact that I am staying here free. So that is 7 days a week. I am so far in my pregnancy that its starting to bother me. Well we cant find anywhere to go. We need a 3 bedroom and well my husbands credit is really bad and my criminal is not so good either. I got into a physical situation with my little boys father a few years ago and well the state pressed charges on both of us so, when people look into our background nobody wants us to rent from them. I am so stressed out right about now I dont know what to do! Please any suggestions?!?!? Thank you!!

Parents struggled hard and they have given us every thing or at least two legs and the energy to stand on our own feet. Because of their energies we - most moved out of India, some stayed away from home- In this world of materialistic behavior where money has more time we are asking our elder generation to spend their time at either elderly homes or asking them to spend on the dollars/rupees forwarded to their account as we can not take up their presence.Where's the solution

my parents get me so mad sometimes. its unbelieveable. it gets to the point where i wouldnt give a **** if they just dropped dead.
then there are those rare times when they say 'i love you'. sometimes i cant even say it back. i mean it doesnt happen a lot. that they say they love me i mean. but when it does happen i just feel weird.
especially when my step-dad says it. he cares for me way more than a regular step dad does. and ive really hurt his feelings in the past. still he loves me.

any advice would be appreciated. really.

So I have just started helping my aunt teach a 5th grade religious ed class. She has had this class for a while and the first day I went, I was amazed how misbehaved they were. ( My aunt is one of those people who think they know everthing.) Her class is out of control. There are about 14 kids and most are very quiet but there are about 4 who are so misbehaved. The cannot sit still and answer the question..."What is faith" with the response"Video games, or cake" or something stupid like that. I want he to know that the class should not be able to act this way. How do I bring it to her attention? How do I help? I don't want to hurt her feelings

Ever since I picked up the french horn, i have been enamered with it. I love everything about it and how versitial of an instrument it can be. I really want to attend a college that will allow me to further pursue my dream of becoming a professional horn player and composer for movie scores but that doens't exactly fit my parents dream for me. My mom wants me to play, but at a big university in the marching band and my dad, he just doesn't understand that something like the horn takes as much compitment, disipline, and determination as anything else. How do I explain any of this to them?

I get irritated very easily. Most of the time with my mother. For example she will be telling me something and i will reply ok and she keeps going so i say so again in "a tone" and I get into trouble. I do this because I feel like she os repeating herself and she need to just be quiet. It seems to happen a lot and is it me reacting to strongly or what?

My brother in law past away about 2 weeks ago now. I had a dream the other night, he was running down a road with two german shepards each on a leash. I screamed out his name he came towards me and I was able to ask him if he is ok. He said he is good, and happy. I asked him why he left and my phone rang. Does this mean anything?

Ok my mom died when I was 8 years old (I am 15 now) and I just had some new neighbors move in just over a year ago. And at first I wanted nothing to do with their parents becasue thats just what I've been like since my mom died. But as I go over their and "hang out" I find myself wanting their mom to be in the same room as us and to talk to us and play games like "truth or dare" and "would you rather" with us. And then if the two girls that I'm "hanging out" with get yelled at by there mom I feel like I want to get into trouble too. It's really weird. I also find myself feeling jealous when she goes and sits next to one of her daughters. Another thing, sometimes I feel like I just want to sit down with her and just talk with just me and her. I'm not sure whats going on, can someone help me? AND what shoud I do about this?
