Parents struggled hard and they have given us every thing or at least two legs and the energy to stand on our own feet. Because of their energies we - most moved out of India, some stayed away from home- In this world of materialistic behavior where money has more time we are asking our elder generation to spend their time at either elderly homes or asking them to spend on the dollars/rupees forwarded to their account as we can not take up their presence.Where's the solution

We are not forgetting parents or their sacrifices. We are in our turn to sacrifice ourself for our family which looks like forgetting parents and their sacrifices. Parents are understanding our plight. Though we could not be physically available to them, we are contacting them over phone and others. There is no need for any solution as long as the parents are understanding the things in the right manner.

We don't really forget but some grown children chose to ignore.
Here in America I have always prided in our culture of making the elders the center of our lives...after God of course. We seek their advice, opinions and blessings and presence no matter who they are.
But these days in America I have been hearing a lot about the grown children ill-treating their parents, some even beating their parents even for silly thing as not ironing the shirt properly. How can a son raise his hand on his mother???? Shocking.
If our parents have given us their time and energy in bringing us up instead of paying an ayah to raise us, I think we should give them our time and love too.
But remember, our children are watching how we treat our elders. How do you want them to treat you when you are old? Set a good example by showing love and respect to our parents even if you think they didn't deserve it.
I know some of us have problems with in-laws but do what you can coz one day we'll be the in-laws.

No Not at all.

Unfortunately , now a days Parents wants their son/daughter to be settled in abroad & expects them to send some $$ for the expenses they have made towards their education.

It is not just because of their energy, most moved out of India it is just fullfilling their ambitions.

cheer up

yes my friend you are right but fast moving world makes all of them to earn money more and more so we can't spend time with the elder persons they also understand it without money there is a life but without love and affection there is no life at all so please care of the oldage persons with a minimum time it makes them happy before they leaves from the world we should keep them some of the minutes happy per day.

IF THEY LEAVE THEY CANNOT RETURN
