I think that my parents did their best. Looking back, I disagree with alot that they did, which is why I raise my kids differently. I don't think that they did a good or bad job, it was just ok. I turned out just fine. I had a stable childhood, but it wasn't a very happy one. No one is perfect. I don't think they could have done anything different. It is just the way that they are.

My parents did a good job, even though they were far from perfect. My dad was especially verbally abusive at times. Never hugged or kissed me that I can remember. But boy, did he teach me a lot about responsibility and finances! My mom was kindhearted and great. She taught me how to be loving, giving and compassionate.

I don't think I could have tried harder, but there are some times I'm not proud of. But I think the majority of us go through that phase, when we sow our wild oats so-to-speak. It's best not to dwell too much on the past and what we could have done better. Just think about what you can do, starting today.

A slippery slope. For the longest time I regretted not trying harder until I realized that wouldn't have made them better. Used to beat myself up that it wasn't a happy childhood, and that it was somehow my fault. There has been alot of the nature vs. nurture debate, and it seems that genetics are a huge part of how a person is when he/she becomes an adult. I have turned out ok because I found a good woman to share my life with.

They, and I, did as best we could. Yeah, a few things I might change if I could, but hey - we can all say that. Youse play the cards youse are dealt. Know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em. Don't draw to an inside straight. And keep a straight face. Don't go countin' yo' money until the dealing's done. Know when to call and know when to run like h e l l. Youse pays yer money and youse takes yer chances. That's the hand we're all dealt, sugar.

I think i'm fabulous. I'm kidding. I think my parents did an amazing job, considering. I mean it's amazing just to have relatively normal parents and mine are. I had a happy childhood with lots of love and that has certainly helped me become who I am to do. I'm sure we all could have done some things better but I'm happy with everything. Thanks for asking. ;)
