Family - January 2007

No physical or sexual abuse, just emotional. Parents don't get along, stay together out of laziness. Mom is a huge pot-smoker, works about 3 days a week. When she's home - she's either sleeping or sitting in front of the TV. Dad works more, when home, has a beer in his hand watching TV. They, admittedly, buy her everything she wants "to keep her from driving us crazy". She eats chicken nuggets basically every night. Mom dresses immaculate, looks beautiful - couldn't care less about how her daughter looks. The kicker - girl has 6 cavities (NEVER brushes), parents won't get them filled because it "costs too much."
She's a big time "follower" & will be pregnant by 12 if this keeps going... SS won't do anything, they just call or stop by, ask if these things are true, they say "no" and SS is on their way. There's much more, but no room here. I try to help, by showing her love, feeding her here a lot, etc. She's best friends w/ my girls. I don't know what else to do, any advice?

my 5 year old son has been set a school project to find out why i gave him his name and the meaning behind it ! but the truth is i dont know i just chose it cause i liked it ! but obviously it wouldn't be much of a project if all he could say was my mum just liked it !!!!!!!!!!! any one got any ideas ? my son's name is jordan

My dad always came back late at night drunk and my dad's family is always on his side and no matter he is right or wrong, they will push all the blame to my mom, can anyone give advice on making peace so that I will not have to suffer anymore of this arguments???

my friend wants to kick out this girl that spost to be watching her but she dont. shes always working or up and in her room. and shes spost to be watching the dog too. and when ever she lets the dog out the dog runs away. and she never lets the dog in. and she never lets her have her friends over. and her dad wants her gone too. so i was wondering what was the legal age to live at in NH. thankx

I was talking to a friend about being stay at home parents, we're both the lower earning partner in our relationships, and would both like to be that person, he's a guy, and I was thinking it's nice that you can choose who stays at home now, but if my hubby stayed we'd prob have to collect housing benefit or whatever in order to survive- I was just wondering whether this was ok, or whether they would force the higher earner to go back to work if it was the difference between benefits or none!! Just a hypothetical!

A few days ago I met up with some relatives for lunch. We were all having a nice time eating, then they all brought up the topic of kids, and why me and my hubby don't have any. Mind you, these were my family and also my hubby's family. Anyways, they all just attacked me all at once and said some pretty hurtful (and FALSE) things. They were saying how we should be ashamed of ourselves because we've been married for over 3 years and having no kids and that it's not because of my husband, its all my faut we don't have kids. I was pretty hurt because they were being rude and said stuff which was not true, was it weird that I cried?

Im adopted by these weird people that ive been with for a year and they wont let me see my rreal mom and little brother!!! Mom mom was adicted to drugs when she was 19 years old and lost custody of me but she is now 34 and has recovered!!! I dont understand why all the other people ive lived with allowed me to see her but they wont!!! Can i leave when im 17???

I have a Grandson that I love dearly. He was a large part of my life until my son and daughter-in-law divorced. Then to avoid letting my son see my grandson my ex-daughter-in-law moved many states away won't let us know her whereabouts won't let us see him. My son can't afford a lawyer to track her down. Its been almost 6 years now. I just can't understand how she could do this and why. I was a good mother-in-law,I am a great Grandmother! I would feel better if I thought that maybe she may be sorry for her actions but to afraid to admit it and alow me to see my grandson. I was told that she has lied to him to get him to quit asking about me. She told him that I no longer wanted to see him.I love him with all of my heart,Why? Why? Why? do Mom's do this? Don't they know they are hurting their own children in the process?

My son is living with his girlfriend and trying to find a job and her mother is making them move in with her and she is on crack most of the time my son can only move in if he puts the electric in his name. The baby has had around 7 houses already because of this women. My son feels he has not options but to go along with because they are not married and the mother is trying to control the daughter she is 17 and has one more year of this. The girls mom gets child suport for her daughter and doesn't even give it to her daughter to help out she just doesn't want to loose it. She spends the money on drugs Help!

This morning I popped round to visit my parents. I was startled to find that there was a 'sold' sign in the front garden. When I went in, the house was totally bare and a note said 'moved to Canada, love mum and dad'. There was no contact details. Obviously, this is quite disturbing.

My mother-in-law died in November. It was very sad - she'd come over here for a holiday, developed cancer and never went home. She became ill at my sister-in-law's house and was soon too ill to move. My sister-in-law was very good, looked after her, etc etc. This was especially generous as she and my bil have split up. Anyway, in less than a month my mil died in hospital, which is where she actually wanted to be.
We had planned to scatter the ashes together as a family but my sil and bil have decided to - wait for it - divide the ashes in two, giving us one half. Because my sil wants to "get it over and done with before she goes on holiday".
I think this is disrespectful to my mil and so we are having to fly, book into an hotel (when we really are financially tight after the funeral Christmas, other probs) and scatter the ashes in one lot.
What do you think?

this morning i think and want to visit my best friend called lorena very much because i never see her since 2 months ago.i come to lorena'home, i try to knock many times but i understand no body is not around at home and lorena is deaf. i open to find an unknown pregnant who is crying and already birthing a baby by alone. i become afraid how to remove and cut the placenta btw them . i run into the kitchen to look the plastic to wear glove and knife.i remove her baby out of her vagina and cut the placent of baby and knot the baby with wool from my hair to him. she becomes dead. i am very worried and wait for her family but they do not come here long time about 8 hours. i cannot run to call doctor because of baby is alone at home i am afraid if unknown people can steal baby. in my country most people like to steal or kill only babies and kids age only below 3 years old.
i care baby a lot until they come and said i kill her.they want to tell policeman.
how will i tell them truth??? sad!

im 14 and started smoking this oct after i got cut from the basketball team in high school. guess i always wanted to and told myself if i couldnt play sports that i would do it. well ive been at it for three months and i gotta admit it was hard. at first it made me feel so sick but i kept at it and now ive fonally learned how to do it right and i love it. its my only reason for getting up in the morning. i know its bad and to tell you the truth i love that it is. i guess in a way im geting even with my body for not being able to do what i wanted. anyway, im geting hooked now and i really want to be able to smoke as much as i want so i can really get into it but that means being able to smoke at home. how do i get them to accept my choice so i can get on with what i want to do/
