I'm 18 years old, I have a part time job, I've made straight A's since I was in 6th grade, I've been accepted into a fairly selective private university that has offered me a $60,000 scholarship, I've never done anything illegal in my life, never gotten a ticket, never even had a detention before -- and my parents are treating me like I'm an irresonsible little kid. I go out and do things with friends and get back late at night sometimes and they are going to "punish me" because they "never know where I am." This is ridiculous. I have a cell phone and they never call it and ask where I am. I would be happy to tell them, but I usually don't know exactly where I'm going when I leave the house. It's not like I'm out getting pregnant or doing anything they would disapprove of. They simply refuse to trust me, when I have given them no reason not to. I'm so frustrated I'm on the verge of moving out and living in my car. How can I make them cut me some slack and give me some room?

my parents are forcing me to go on medication for concentrating at school. that medicine makes me feel like a girl. it makes my mouth very dry and my breath smells like crap as soon as i take it. that pill makes me too calm. i never feel like talking with my friends. i feel weird. i am very unactive. i feel too gentle and calm like a girl. i don't like it. it is worse for the concenration. i can concentrate without it but my parents don't believe me. i am just not out there. that pill cost 2 dollars each and my mom spent 60 dollars for 30 pills and now she is saying that is a waste of money. it is very hard to talk my parents out of things or into things. it is very hard for me to convince other people.

I don't know why it is so difficult to tell the girls to live their own lives, but I am having a hard time with it. One of the girls asked me to get an aparment with her. She said that I could pay the bills for the first few months until she got a job, but I don't think she will ever go to work or help me pay the bills. My wife will surely divorce me if I move in with her.

So, my question is this, what words do I use to tell the girls that I am finished supporting them? They need jobs and they need to pay their own bills. I am done. I want my wife and little girl back and I can't have them and continue taking care of my grown children too. My wife demanded that I pay her back every dime that I spent on the girls. She figures that I spent about $22,000 of her money. I think it was more.

Again, the question is, what words do I use to tell the girls to get a life-- not my life, but a life of their own?

I cannot wait until my teenage boy is out of the house! He is demanding, moody, hates school, annoys his sister, argues, has to be told everything twice or more & drinks out of the milk carton!!!!!! I can't stand it! He is also loud, slams all the doors...I am going out of my mind! Is it me or is it him? He'll be 15 in a few months. Am I being punished? What!?!?

My friends and family always ask me if i like being the only girl in the house out of 5 poeople. Well actually, soon its going to be 6 because i am pregnant with another boy. Well my friends are always bragging about there daughtors, and im the only one who dosnt have a daughtor, and they say to me " dont you ever wish you had girls instead of boys, because your daughtors would more likely come talk to you, than a son would". That made me so mad! Im happy with my sons. they also say stuff like " I cant believe you actually enjoy your life with 3 sons, wouldnt it be so much more fun picking stuff out for girls, and buying stuff for girls". I am like upset because they are saying stuff like that! They dont have sons, so what do they know. They think boys are hard to handle, but they dont know that! All they want is the easy way out of things! Should i make a comment about having a daughtor? Or should i just leave it alone??

My 12 year old daughter is very smart, an A and B student, when she turns her homework in or does it. We have been struggeling with her for the past year on this issue. We have tried grounding her, taking away priveliges, phones, computer, t.v., video games, bribing her with money...everything to get her grades up and to keep up with her schoolwork, but it has failed. Has anyone out there had this issue with their kids and had a succesful remedy to this situation?

I'm 15, and many teens my age get to go out with their friends and have fun. My parents are different, and they are the common steryotypical over-protecting parents. They sometimes let me go out with my friends, and those few times that I can, I have to notify them with every little detail. My parents don't do curfews but I have to let them know everywhere I go with every person I am with. Over all, I am a good kid, with good grades and have never betrayed my parents' trust. HOW CAN I CONVINCE MY PARENTS THAT I AM A TEENAGER AND TELL THEM THAT I SHOULD HAVE A CURFEW OR AT LEAST LIGHTEN UP?

Thanks.

my granpa and uncle buy and sell cars and also do body work and restoration... my uncle found me a 1999 mustang for my parents. my parents got a good deal but little did they know that i'm friends with the kid they got it from. i found out that they took the tires off and put balled ones on it. they left all but one lug nut off of one tire, all the tires were too small, and all different sizes. also, when when we made the deal they said they'd fix a chip in the hood. well, my grandparents say that they will no longer fix the hood because i got my lip pierced. my mom is so upset because fixing the hood was part of the deal and because of the balled tires as well. we have put new tires, shocks, replaced blinkers, headlights, brakes, and clutch. my grandmother told my mom that if we ever sale the car to please give my uncle some of the profit since we got such a good deal. should i be upset with them? i'm dazed and confused and really don't know what to think or how to take this.

Over the last few years, I've watched my dad and he's going to be my role model. He's had some horrible times with work and money shortages but he's been brave and strong and I know he loves my mum even though they can carry on a bit. My Uncle Pete says my dad was a mad one when he was young but I think that's how you learn to be what he is now.

There are so many orphaned kids that need homes here? I know a filthy rich lady who flew all the way to China to adopt a baby girl, while the orphaned kids here get left out in the cold.
Doesn't make any sense.

My parents recently told me that my sisters and their husbands hate my husband and are jealous of him (his job, paycheck, education, and relationship w/ my parents) and talk about us both behind our backs. My husband has self-esteem problems and has tried very hard the past 4 yrs. to be friends (helping them both move, help around their houses..) I think he has tried too hard and has came off as annoying. We spend alot on gifts for them and their kids and we feel like we get short changed on our b-days and at Christmas. One said my husband was not even welcome in their home to my mother, but our presents are and he is welcome when doing something for them. I'm upset over the news and do not want to have anything to do with them anymore. We are about to have our first child and my mother is sorry for telling me in fear that we will not include my sister's in our kid's birth & life. What should I do? I feel betrayed and foolish for being a door mat to them.

My father, recently retired, has applied weedkiller to his lawn in the shape of some boobies. So, now, there is a yellowy patch on the lawn, in the shape of voluptuous breasts. Obviously, my mother is concerned over his mental state and what they neighbours will say. His only response to our questions on the issue was 'I just love boobies'. He is 64 and other than this bizarre incident, he is a calm, dignified sort of gent. Should I do more about this?

The first semester is gone- and since I came back from vacation, my mom had put me in GT- Gifted and Talented.

First: it's really awkward. Second: I miss my old schedule, and I left all my friends in my other classes. Third: it's too much pressure.

Social Studies, Science, Language Arts- they're easy. Problem's Math. I'm not exactly a math whiz, but I'm not bad at it either. I'm learning all this new stuff, with a packet of work I have to do and such. But what now? I'm really tired, I can hardly keep my eyes open.

But I want to please my parents. They've been so tired lately, I don't want to pressure them. They ask every day how GT is going, I just put on a fake smile and say it's going great. They beam happily and tell me to keep up the good work.

What should I do?

I've been through a lot in my life that has truly effected me in various ways. I watched my mother get abused knowing I couldnt do anything about, and then I had to go to school where kids picked on me because of my weight or either they jus didnt like me because I went out with their boyfriend. So its like now-a-days I just all of sudden start crying, or either I'm in a very sad or quiet mood where I dont feel like talking to anyone. so do you guys think I'm mentally crazy?
