my granpa and uncle buy and sell cars and also do body work and restoration... my uncle found me a 1999 mustang for my parents. my parents got a good deal but little did they know that i'm friends with the kid they got it from. i found out that they took the tires off and put balled ones on it. they left all but one lug nut off of one tire, all the tires were too small, and all different sizes. also, when when we made the deal they said they'd fix a chip in the hood. well, my grandparents say that they will no longer fix the hood because i got my lip pierced. my mom is so upset because fixing the hood was part of the deal and because of the balled tires as well. we have put new tires, shocks, replaced blinkers, headlights, brakes, and clutch. my grandmother told my mom that if we ever sale the car to please give my uncle some of the profit since we got such a good deal. should i be upset with them? i'm dazed and confused and really don't know what to think or how to take this.

it is pretty bad that family would do that to family although, if you ever do sell the car dont give them any of the profits. Also, take it as a lesson to not buy cars from them anymore

You can't pick your family, but you can pick your friends. People are the leading cause of bad relationships, Trouble is, some of those people go by the titles of Mom, son, granma, granpa, uncle, aunt…
You should be upset with them, learn a lesson from the experience. But keep in mind they are Your Family....

Speaking as a a 45-year-old guy.
CARS come and CARS go.
But family is forever.
Don't let a CAR come between you and your family.
I have had a LOT of cars in my lifetime. Many were wonderful. I never wanted to let them go.
But all have to be let go eventually. They just do not last forever.
Family is forever.
When you get older, get a job, you will find another mustang. Better than the one you have. And THAT will be a distant memory.

Do you know for a fact that your family did this or are you taking the word of your friends over your family. I can not imagine any grandparents doing what you have described to their grandchild.
If you are sure of your friends, you and your friend can confront your family with the truth and see what they say.

yeah be upset with them. it won't do you any good, but do be upset. it sounds like something my brothers would do to me. Ha!!
seriously though, if i did ever sell it, i sure wouldn't give the uncle any profit and when he asked why I would say "well, you got yours when you stripped it before my parents got it"
Then---he can be upset, cause you caught him out.
