Over the last few years, I've watched my dad and he's going to be my role model. He's had some horrible times with work and money shortages but he's been brave and strong and I know he loves my mum even though they can carry on a bit. My Uncle Pete says my dad was a mad one when he was young but I think that's how you learn to be what he is now.

wish i could say the same for my dad.he turned is back on us(3 children)when i was 7yrs old(i'm now 26).he only lives 2miles down the road and doesnt give a s**t about us,2 yrs ago i found out he'd had a brain haemmorage, went the hospital, only to be snubbed by his wife.i tried to visit him at his home once he was discharged, but my sister told me that his wife had turned her away, and that none of us were welcome at their house.my dad knows we want to see him but puts her(his wife) before us,thats no role model, your children always come first(as my mum as always shown),but if anything happened to my dad tomorrow,i'd still try to be there, even though he's never been there for us,am i wrong? i dont know, but a parent is always a parent, maybe i'm too soft,my mum has played both parents roles for 21yrs altogether and couldnt have done a better job, she's brilliant, feel awful now, because why should I give HIM anything, congratulations for having a great father.sorry for babbling on,but your question really hit a spot.my MUM is my role model, stuff my dad.

Anyone can be a role model. I believe you love your dad and there is nothing wrong with wanting to be like him.

Your Dad sounds a totally stand-up guy.

Mine spent all our money either down the boozer or in the bookies. I have literally danced on his grave!

Of course he should be it....Thats the way life goes...Your role model is who u see and learn by...Thats your dad...Thats so nice that u see and realize that...Not enough people see that until it's to late...Your one step ahead of them...Good going.
