No physical or sexual abuse, just emotional. Parents don't get along, stay together out of laziness. Mom is a huge pot-smoker, works about 3 days a week. When she's home - she's either sleeping or sitting in front of the TV. Dad works more, when home, has a beer in his hand watching TV. They, admittedly, buy her everything she wants "to keep her from driving us crazy". She eats chicken nuggets basically every night. Mom dresses immaculate, looks beautiful - couldn't care less about how her daughter looks. The kicker - girl has 6 cavities (NEVER brushes), parents won't get them filled because it "costs too much."
She's a big time "follower" & will be pregnant by 12 if this keeps going... SS won't do anything, they just call or stop by, ask if these things are true, they say "no" and SS is on their way. There's much more, but no room here. I try to help, by showing her love, feeding her here a lot, etc. She's best friends w/ my girls. I don't know what else to do, any advice?

keep doing what you are doing. the girl needs to know that somebody cares about her. keep reporting it to SS, maybe they will get off their butts and finally do something. until then, keep the girl under your wing--she needs you.

Well there's not really much you can do to me it sounds like you're doing more than you should have to because most people could even care less. The only other way is if you decide to adopt the girl for yourself, but I doubt her parents would allow that to happen. All you can do is try to guide her through life, but not invade on her family life because then her parents might think you're being to nosey and then you won't even be able to see the girl anymore. Which will make the girls life much harder. It seems to me you're the only thing she has.

unfortunately they aren't using the parenting skills but she is not being beat or malnourished.if there is drugs in the home call the police tell them what you know they will take care of it.medical issues should be addressed.call a 800 number they will decide if it is a issue before someone shows up at the door. you should be careful because if they find out its you can be arrested for harassment.not mention the lil girl.is she dirty, hair, body, clothing this can be an issue.

Raise your kids the best you can and continue to be nice to this girl. Set a good example to her and affirm her as a person. Don't let your kids live by the standards of this girl. When this girl visits, expect her to behave as if she were your daughter. Your actions will inspire her to want for more out of life than what her parents have amounted too.

You are doing good so far and if you can talk to her any chance you get to tell her about the important things in life. I would also put in an anonymous tip for the police about pot deals going down there. They would bust them for that and maybe social services will take a closer look.

There is really not much you can do. Sounded a bit like medical neglect, but you would have to prove that they are not taking the children for proper care.Under the child protections laws for most states, this would not be considered a report of abuse.

If SS gets more complaints then the will have to do something. Maybe talking to girls school counselor will do it.

Wait, what are you turning them in for? Feeding her chicken nuggets and watching too much tv? You need to stay out of this one.

Why not offer to buy her from them?
