I remember being a teenager and thinking my parents were just old and didn't understand what I was going through. The funny thing is that they were teenagers once too, so they had already been through it all. It takes growing up a bit to figure out that your parents are pretty smart people and have lived through what you are going through. Once you get older you appreciate all the things your parents did for you and realize that they had your best interest in mind all the time.

Well many times people think that they 'know it all' and that they are able to use their own logic and reasoning to get through certain circumstances or issues. In another context, some people (especially adolescents) can feel that their parents do not fully understand the situation because they are not in their shoes and because of this feel that any advice given is merely useless or invalid. I think that no matter what when a person does refuse advice that should be adhered to, it is not necessarily a bad thing because where their stubbornness (or whatever caused them to not take the advice) kept them from listening their decisions and later experiences will teach them 'the hard way' what their parents probably knew all along from their own experiences.

Because you have to find out for yourself. If you always believed whatever anyone told you, you wouldn't have a mind of your own. Making mistakes and learning about things is what forms your own opinions and thoughts about things. Then you know it from your own experiences, and not just by heresay.
And yes, you are right. Parents are right MOST of the time. (but not all! lol)

You don't want to listen, to your parents, because the children thinks they know everything, I always say if only our children would listen to us, all the mistakes we made, they would not have to go through what we had to go through. But I guess they want to go through the school of hard knocks, like we went through. Have a Happy New Year!

Because we think that they don't think like us and always give us old advises and they aren't modern like us and also because they always shout and give us their advises in a wrong way and they always give us the meaning that we can't think and we have no decision on our self's and they always say that all our doings are wrong and they always mean that we are without minds and we should always say to them everything we do even if it doesn't mean any body except us and we are bad and mad also.

usually becos they're telling the truth.. and deep down we know it... but we refuse to accept it... so to prove them wrong... test fate so to speak... we deliberately try and prove we're right and that we can do it better, not that it works of course.. usually everything just gets worse and we wonder why we didnt listen in the first place.. which jst proves we knew they were right in the beginning.

we think we can have better solutions than hearing the nagging our parents always give. but in the end, sometimes, our parents' advice would've been way better. basically, we are stubborn

Because we think that they can't understand our situation and they are just forcing us to do what they think is best.
