My husband is from a different culture....I lived with him and his sister for a year and a half before we got our own place.....I worked full-time, cooked all the meals, did all the cleaning.

I understand this was a huge change for his sister.....But, the thing is,,,,,he talked me into letting her work in the same bank as me. I was the manager. Anyway, I had to leave my job becasue of her manipulative ways. He told me I had to put up with her because she was part of my family.

Then, she and my other sister-in-law teamed up on me.....They called me whore, ****, etc. I know they may have been jealous, but I have never had to deal with this sort of behavior.

His sister has done some nice things for me, but we did nice things for each other. I have to tolerate her being with us almost 24/7. She tries to give her opinion on raising my children, etc. She calls our house at all hours of the night.

The other sister-in-law is coming back into town soon. How should I act?

Not sure what to do , my husband passed away recently after a 2 year battle with cancer.Leaving behind myself and our two minor children.
In his obituary I had asked for money in lieu of flowers to help with financial costs.
His parents have received money from relatives.
They carried no financial burden for him.
Should the money come to me and the children?
Some people insist it should and I just don't know.

Thank you
Deb

I was with her Mom who was actually living with her boyfriend at the time. She told me they were no longer together. We started a relationship, she got pregnant and was with me all the way up to the delivery. When I came to the hospital she told me the baby was not mine - it was her husbands. He can't have kids and he is also white. She is italian and I am black. I saw my daughter after she was born, but have not seen her since than. My sister told me that the lady had changed her hair color to black, and gained alot of weight. She used to be a Body Builder. Just to throw me off from recognizing who she was. I miss my girl - I know she is mine and I know she knows that couldn't be her BIOLOGICAL Dad. Her name was cheyanne when she was born. Moms name is Judy. They lived in California. I have more information, but this should suffice for now. Maybe someone is reading this who knows something. Tell her - her father's name is DOUG.

By letting them out for a while i mean kick them out in the back yard no way to leave but not to get in the house either.

One broke his ankle and is on layoff rt now.Not a week goes by that they don't ask for $.My son w/the broken ft needs $ for rent or he's getting evicted. My other son asks for 20.00 here and there but usually every wk or so but pays us back.My daughter was getting public asst{food stamps}which helped out feeding 3 extra people but dnt know what happened to that, she don't get them anymore. What can we do? I am sooo tired of this crap. We are not poor but we are not rich either and it seems like we work to support grown adults.I can't just throw my daughter and the grandkids out but she is so ungrateful and doesnt help do anything.I know it's not my sons fault he broke his foot but we don't have the $ to pay his rent. There is so much more...

We've all heard parents say that they would die to protect their children. But would they just as quickly die to protect their spouse?

Would you? Why? Why not?

While watching TV an 18 year old male sees a very pretty woman with a great figure. He says to his Mom" that is the kind of woman I would lke to meet". She says to the son " Shes too much woman for you" Then says she never had such a good figure. Is the mother cruel to say " Shes too much woman for you"?

We were visiting my uncle at his cabin and there was a bear sighting in the area so after my dad got all of us in the house, we saw the bear walking by and it stopped near my dads car. He started yelling at the bear and telling it, it'll be sorry if it takes a dump on his new car.

Women were liberated from the home, from their husbands, from their children - from having to bear children at all. Fathers were liberated from their authority. Children were liberated from limits, from rules, even their parents. And the entire population was liberated from moral and ethical standards. Yet it turns out that those things were precisely what held society together. "Family values" have been so scorned that we are left with neither families nor values. What do we have? Rampant illegitimacy and sexual disease, widespread divorce, and a generation of unloved, undisciplined, and uncared-for kids.

My daughter & son-in-law is buying a very large, very expensive historic home. Since I'm their accountant, I'm very familiar with their finances and know that this could be potentially crippling financially if a major repair or other life problem occurred. They have two small children who will also have growing financial needs in the next 10 years. I've tried to counsel them but my daughter gets defensive and tells me to myob.
FYI, my ex and I had a very nice home and he got on drugs and we divorced and I almost ruined my finances.

Im a 13 yo girl. My mom makes wear bras that give much support and cover, says I need them and in part she's right. But I don't enjoy them, especially in Australia's heat. I wishI could wear other bras but mom is stubborn. We had several arguments over this, I got grounded a few times. Monday I really lost my temper , got scissors and in front my mom cut up the bras she gave me, I know this was wrong, apologized but my mom got REALLY mad at me. Punishment: She took me to a lingerie store and got me those bras called long line that covers all of your torso and have 10 hooks in the back, all of them made of very thich material. I'll have to wear them till Jan 15th, EVERYDAY,They are kinda uncomfortable, much orse than my other bras. I gotta wear all the time, except in bed. Dont you agree this punishment is too harsh and unfair? What do I do now? They make me sweat, hate them!

Hi,

Sorry this is a long and serious question…

My uncle works offshore and has a clever little girl aged 8. He isn’t in a relationship with her mum but sees the girl regularly.

Recently the girls mum got a new boyfriend and things have escalated.

The mother has never been maternal with the girl or her 13 year old brother but since she got with her new boyfriend she has been worse.

The 13 year old is immature and naughty and usually ends up looking after his sister while their mother goes to the pub. On bonfire night the little girl was made to meet her mother at the pub ¾ a mile from home and had to walk alone in the dark.

The girl talks about disliking her mother a lot and hating her mum’s boyfriend.

On the odd occasion she does get to spend time with her mother it is down the smokey pub.

I am not sure how things really are at home and it concerns me.

Do you think I should talk to social services about this situation?

Heres whats wrong:
Dad- ever since he started playing vidio games hes been swearing and not wanting to do anything but play vidio games and sell stuff. He doesn't really care about our family anymore and has recently started picking fights with my mom. Hes obnoxios alot now and expects me to lagh at some 2nd grade jokes that are imature and definatley NOT funny. They're annoying. He says he loves me but shows nothing of it.

Mom-Really theres nothing she does wrong. She is mad at my dad alot because of his lack of resposibility around the house and how he ignores us,and how he always wants to sleep with her but she doesn't want to because they fight to much, and he doesn't deserve it.

Brother: He always picks my dads side when we fight, but thats only because my dad buys him lots of stuff. He is influence by my dad and has also recently started swearing.

Me:I am just confused

Both my father and step father are 50ish. They seem to have it all...tools, clothes, watches, wallets, cologne etc. Does anyone have any creative ideas for these two for Christmas? Everyone else is so easy to buy for, except them. Neither one is into ties or sweaters either. I'm at a loss. My dad has a Harley, and for like the past 5 years his gifts have been motorcycle related. I was hoping to get a fresh idea since he has all he could ever want or need with Harley's on it. I usually spend like $100 or so on each of them. Any thoughts?
