Do any dads punish their kids by locking them in a room or let them out for a while if they been bad?

My dad been doing that. I wonder if is normal and common form of punishment


By letting them out for a while i mean kick them out in the back yard no way to leave but not to get in the house either.

there are several missing items from your question that would certainly help us to understand better. You can't write two sentences and expect normal answers.

The first question would be: is he actually locking the door from the outside so that you cannot get out? This is never okay to do.

Second: what room is it? Your bedroom with a VCR, TV, stereo, cell phone, etc? Or is it a closet, empty room, basement, or what?

Third: Is this the only punishment he has used? Sometimes parents feel like there is nothing else they can punish with. If they do not hit or abuse, maybe this is all he knows.

Fourth: what is your age? It sounds like you might be old enough to converse with him about what the problems are.

Well i you had been bad like you said you were, then you deserve some type of discipline... you are lucky that your dad does that to you in a form of punishment that's nothing, some kids get beat up like crazy by their parents and You your dad just put you in a Room!! No wonder here in North America so many kids are soo spoiled " Especially white kids"....

depends on your age....youre typing so what on earth did you do?
i did that when my son was five cuz he had tantrums and then I would run the vaccuum till he would calm down....talk to your Mom....you need to always be able to use the bathroom....try to cooperate with them
