Heres my problem, I have been gone from my hometown for just over 4 years traveling and when I came home 3 months ago I soon after caught my older brother having sex with the neighbor girl(hes 27 shes 13) I asked him not to do it again but he said I cant do @#$$ about it, so I called the police now hes in jail my family is mad at me as well as my brother and they all say if she consented it is ok. She did consent but was I wrong?

No, you didn't do anything wrong. He did. It doesn't matter if she said o.k.. She is under the age to give consent. He is basically a child molester and is were he should be. I have 6 brothers and I am very close to my boys but if i caught them with a little girl I would turn them in in a heartbeat. Besides, think of it this way you might have saved his life. Because Me personally if I was that 13 year old girls Mother I would have put a bullet in his head for touching my child. And I am sure her parents feel the same.

13? I don't think she has the right to consent. Don't you have to be 18 or something before you can make that decision for yourself?
You did the right thing by giving him to the police. That 13-year old's life is ruined now. And no amount of time in jail for your brother will be able to fix it.

That poor girl should never have been put in the position to have to consent to something like that. Thirteen year old children do not have the brain development to always make logical choices, so they often will do things that are not smart. Twenty-seven year old men SHOULD be able to make wise and mature choices. Like not having sex with a child!
I am the mother of two girls who are almost thirteen, and your story just makes my skin crawl. Girls that age still sleep with teddy bears and play with Barbie dolls. They are NOT adults!
The fact that a grown man would want to have sex with a child is so sad. As a mother, I am very happy that you took a stand against your brother. I'm so sorry that your decision cost you your family, but you should be proud of yourself for doing it. You made the right choice.

You did nothing wrong. She is a minor and consent or no, he was breaking the law. A 13 yr. old is not mature enough to have a sexual relationship. Especially with a 27 year old.

no you didn't because he broke the law by having sex with a minor so if your family has a problem with that then tell them to get over it. on the other hand how do you feel about the situation that you are in.all you did was help a 13yr old girl get help even if she did consent to it he still broke the law

No you were not wrong, your family is wrong. That was a child and whether she consented or not she isnt even old enough to make decisions for herself. SHE IS A MINOR. props to you and good tha he went to jail. And who cares what your family thinks, because YOU DID THE RIGHT THING!!!!!!!!!!

At 13 you don't know your *** from a hole in the ground, he should have been the adult in that situation and kept his thing in his pants. You did the right thing. Move on with your life with a clean conscience and leave your family to figure out why the hell they didn't support you!

No you were not wrong........maybe if more families would take the steps you have taken there would be far less molesters walking the streets. I know that was hard for you to do but it takes a greater love to do what you did
