I've recently been offered an incredible opportunity with my company to start a division in a beautiful part of the country. The quality of life and opportunities for my children are so much better there. We aren't sure of when we'll move, but we've let everyone know, in case we get short notice. The money is also excellent, and it's something I'll enjoy. My wife's family is appauled that we would even consider it. The major reason they cite is that it would mean they wouldn't see our family as much. They pass by our house every day, and go months and months without seeing us anyway. They have quit talking to us and are being completely rude. No support, congrats...nothing but anger. It don't think they are so concerned about not seeing us. Does anyone know why they would act like this? I got nothing.

I was staying the night at a friends house saturday night and we went to a party. My dad was there! But it wasn't abnormal or anything like that. See I live with my grandparents. Here lately my dads been hanging with my friends more than me and being at every party I am. He's never been a strict dad but the other night he was really pissing me off. Ok when I go to a party i'm the life of it, i'm the one on the table dancing and yeah I made out with a few guys but it's all in good fun. And he had the nerve to tell me to stop drinking. If you don't know how it feels to have one of you're best friends sleep with you're dad or have girls young enough to be your sister as you're new step mommy i'll tell you now it sucks. Am I getting mad over nothing or should I really have listened to him.

I just moved back in w/ my child's father. Our son is 2 yrs old. I don't have a job here yet cause they gave away our son's spot @ daycare & his dad blamed me for it. He doesn't work. He continues 2 pay more attention 2 computers. Yeah he buys things for our son but he just spent $300 for a laptop when he has 2 computers at home. He goes 2 college & doesn't get home until around 4:30. He lays down for a while, gets up eats, then goes straight 2 his computers. Last night I made out a plan for the next few days on what to eat for me & my son and all he could say was that it didn't include him. How can I include him in on things when he doens't clue us in. I get so fustrated cause I'm here 24/7 w/ our son & it kills him 2 pay him 5 minutes of attention. He never tells him goodbye either & my son will be staring at him when he walks out the door. He keeps tellin me he needs 2 be potty trained. I'm workin on it & he refuses 2 help sayin it interfers w/ his schedule. What should I do?

My ex died last weekend. We have a 5 yr old son and we had nine years together. We'd made peace with a lot that happened over the years and were very close up until the day he died. I miss him terribly. My mother says I should stop crying, get over it, move on. But how do I just get over losing the man that has meant everything to me? He was my friend and the father of my child. Any advice guys? I'm really hurting right now.

My mum has recently got in touch with her son that she had adopted when he was born. My brother and I are meeting him for the first time on our mums birthday on the 18th. He sent me a birthday card (my birthday is tomorrow) and in it he asked for advice about what to get our mum. I have no idea what to get her myself, let alone what to tell him to get her. She likes travelling (she is currently in S.Africa), but i'm not really sure what else. Mumsy things really! She's about 55

I live by my own, have a kid to raise and everything is fine in my life except for my mother. She is controlling and abusive, she likes to make me feel miserable, and even worst, she is thinking about selling her house to move with me!! Help! How can I tell her no without hurting her feelings? I know she doesn't mean to be mean but she is, and I cannot stand this anymore.

My parents are separated and I'm living with my dad(who's got a stroke some yrs back but still mobile). My bro who's gotten a divorce yrs back has moved back.So I am face with 2 guys at home.Problem is, my dad's a stubborn fella who's always insisted on doing certain things HIS WAY,and he will only smile and talk nicely to neighbours(coz they help him to buy lotteries etc),but not to us,in fact sometimes he curse us when we don't help him buy those ridiculously big amt lotteries. As for my bro, he's another pain-in-the-***, he's got big ego, arrogant for what he has achieved (actually nothing much), and always act bossy at home,if you tried to rebut,he will flared up and start banging doors etc,it's always other's fault, not his.I am really sick of these two guys, and wld move out if I have the means.but meanwhile, how shld I dealt with them?I have tried talking to them but seems they can never change their habits, after a while it came back, and I suffered.P/S:I am an adult, not a youngster

my father is often rude and mean to me but not to my brother. I thought it was because I dont play sorts and he does but I recently found out its because he doesnt think im his daughter. My mom,dad and a friend of his lived in the same house and my mom drank alot supposivly. Around the time she got pregnant with me my dad told her that she slept with the friend of his after being drunk. so now he believes im not his. My mom told me and wants to know if i want to get a dna test i said yea whatever becuase ive fallen detached from my father after he has started to be rude and mean to me. Should i wait to take the dna test until im older or get it done with. im 14 btw . thanks

My mother-in-law got my husband a credit card a couple years ago in her husbands name. Her husband DOES know. Anyway, he used it one time to buy my wedding ring. Because the billing info is in her name, he gives her $50/mo to pay it off. Min. is $20. We should have only $150 to pay off, but she says $350. Told him to cut the card, pay it in full and get his own. He said he is. She is also CONSTANTLY reminding me and my husband that she is always spending hundreds of $$ for b-day and x-mas on him and he can't even acknowlege their b-day's or anniversary, mother's day or father's day. She says it isn't about the money, but it is or she wouldn't mention it every couple weeks (no joke). She said because of his inconsideration, there will be no thanksgiving dinner or x-mas dinner. She is tired of him eating and running (he works nights and she cooks late). Only cards for x-mas, too. Is she being materialistic or am I being critical? I feel like it's a guilt trip. Not working.

what do u think what should be the behavior of parents with their children and children's spouses?
Do you think parents have rights to scold upon the spouses of their children?
Do u think it is ok for parents to always tell their children what they have done for them and now they need it back?
Do u think that a father can always count that he has spent this much amount on his son and now the son has to pay back that amount?
If ones parents do all this what he/she must do and how he/she can behave with parents?
