You should give them your advice and even if you think they don't listen because they do and they might do what you advice them but without admitting hat it came from you

Well they are grown, so they have a choice. Someone said "Advice costs nothing and is worth about as much". Even if it's good advice we can only offer. Of course as parents we can expect anything we want, reasonable or not.

It seems like we all have to go through a period in our lives where we have to find things out for ourselves. I have an 18 year old daughter that no matter what I tell her, she always does the opposite, even when asking for the advise. More often than not, I am right about the situation. It is frustrating to know deep down what is best and to have them shrug you off like you are some piece of lint on their shoulder. With experience and maturity, things sooner fall into place. I have found it easier to just let my kids make some of their own mistakes rather than take it personal when they don't want to listen to what I might want to say.

No. If they are grown, we can give our heartfelt opinion and advice and tell them regardless of what they do decide, we are there for them and support their decision even if we don't agree with it and the pray, that maybe, just maybe, plant the seeds of common sense, but unless it is in their hearts to follow it, the we cannot expect them to act on it.

Yes, I think they should be willing to listen to your opinion out of respect. It's unfortunate that we don't listen to our parents until we're grown and realize they were right the majority of the time.

Out of respect for their elders they should at least allow you to go through the motions of offering the advise, after all isn't that our role? But, having said that, you should have raised them to be well-rounded independent thinkers and therefore, you should not necessarily expect them to always follow your guidance. Good luck.

Absolutely... We maybe dumb, stupid, and arrogant at times. But our parents have been there, and know what they are talking about. I'm 23 and I get advice from my mom all the time. I don't always agree with her advice. But usually she's right.

They might listen, but they'll probably take their friend's advice over yours just to try and be independent.
