You've got to stop complaining and do the work. I know it is hard with all the distractions you have as a child in the year 2006, you have cell phones, the computer, extra cirricular activities, etc. However, this will teach you a hard lesson if your mom takes away the cell phone. Put in the work it will require for you to get the grade up, and tough it out. This is how life really is. Other kids go through the same thing. I promise.

time management, swot up in short 20 minutes sessions, take a break for at least ten minutes. try to finish one part completely in those sessions before moving on to the next assignment.
if you are finding the class hard, ask yourself this question. what is that i find hard, the work load, concentrating, the subject.
set your self a plan, of doing the work, set yourself targets that you can achieve, raise the targets once the section is complete, for example, if the homework requires you to read a particular book, then write about what you have read, the work is asking for a considered opinion on the subject matter ,not a copy of the book/work, then read and make notes and then formulate your response, pick a time to do the work when your distractions are minimal, when your phone is switched off, the tv is off the dvd is not on, your homework needs as much thought given to it as though you were in class. good luck LF

Explain to her on a good day that you may need a tutor for this class, she will have more respect for you and it shows that you are taking responsiblity! Tell her you feel as though you are failing b/c it is too hard for you and that you need a study guide, study partner or a tutor, ask her if she things that a tutor can be included into the budget and tell her sincerely thatyou are really struggling and that you honestly need the help. Tell her it would be better if the help came form an outsider instead of her or one of your siblings, you will take them more seriously and most of them have ways of making a person understand better. You will be less disracted as well.
Also try changing your thinking... Instead of saying this class is too hard tell your self I can do this, tell yourself and when you are talking to others like your friends that this class "was" hard in the begining but I will master it, that the longer you are in the class the easier it gets. Tell yourself you find the class challenging and you are always up to a good challenge. Tell yourself that you like the class and find it interesting and I will do what it takes to bring your grade up... Including getting a tutor and if you can not afford one get a study partner one that is pulling A's in the same class or an oldere honer student, talk to your counselor if you need help in find free and/or hired help.
You also may want to talk to your teacher and tell him/her that you would like to do better in the class and wondered if they have any advise b/c you feel that it is hard for you and you would like it to come easier.... They may have extra credit work available for you to bring your grade up that work doesn't seem to be as hard as the normal work either... Just ask... be honest with your teacher and tell them you'll need to do soemthing to improve your grade and would like their help or input.
There are things you can do, don't give up and say you hate the class and that you can not do this b/c you can, you really can if you set your mind to it...
I had many tutors mostly for math and my grades improved they also helped me in all of my home work not just one subject we met at their houses sometimes or at the school and sat in an empty study room. It was much better then coming to my house or sitting in my bedroom with a study partener too many distarction... Liberary was o.k. but not as well as their house or the school.... I felt more comfortable in the school or their house and study harder.... Good luck and no one will help those who won't help themselves so take the steps that is needed.... !

Explain to your mom how you are struggling.
See if you can get tutoring, maybe through your school (so your mom doesn't have to pay for it), if not, through a local college student who tutors on the side.
It sounds to me like it is really tough work.
but until you are able to get the work done, you should limit your time on the phone.

Well first find out when your work is due in your science class, then get organized about how long you should work on your work such as if a work sheet is one page spend at least 15 min on it then move on if your having problems with it then ask the teacher or a fellow classmate

Get off the phone and get your work done. No work is too hard. It just takes you actually wanting to do it. If it really is that hard get a tutor.

Talk to your mom about it in a calm voice... i know how you feel my 9Th grade biology teacher is like a college professor. But i talk to my mom and she said bring home a better grade even if the percent is better than last time.
