My mom was killed 9 years ago by a drunk driver. She was walking home she was in front of the apartment complex next to where we lived when he came out of no where and hit her. He stoped looked at her then drove off. There was witness that saw his licennesse plate # and saw him so that's how they found him. Me and my 2 sister all unage at her death got 73 thousand each. But apart of me have always wanted to meet this guy who killed her and ask if he has changed any. However, I don't feel its my place to go and bring up something he already has to live with.

Would you please share your experiences? I'm considering getting certified to be a foster parent. Just want to know if anyone can tell me what its like. Difficulties, challenges. I just want to get a general idea of what I will be dealing with if I become a foster parent.

She's been going with him for almost two years and he's been at our house only 4 times. I feel like she's trying to avoid having him around me. She doesn't mind when my husband bumps into the two of them. They have drinks occasionally together when I'm not around. He knows him better than I do. And I point this out to her too. When her boyfriend makes plans to show at our cardealership business for his truck repairs etc. it seems like she tries to get me out of there or makes excuses so that I leave. Later I find out, everybody has gone out to eat or have a few drinks.
I feel hurt. I have been very nice to this man, cooked a meal when he HAS been at our house, for him & I like what I know of him. I don't understand why she's being so evasive with him around me and not my husband (he's very critical )???

During this year my husband and I caught up with my older brother, his wife
and two children for dinner. As my brother lived o/s, I hadn't seen him and his wife for nearly 8 years and it was the first time I met my little five year old nephew.
But during the whole evening, the focus was on my husband, what he has been doing, etc. After the meal, my brother and his wife sat down on the lounge and looked at photos of my husband's art while I just walked around the house and then sat down twiddling my thumbs while they talked about art. When I tried to get involved with the conversation I was ignored.
Please note that my husband is a quiet person and didn't monopolize the whole evening. He was just happy to be there and to see them, like I was.
What is wrong with this picture?

I have been in a relationship with my partner for 8 yrs and he has a 10yr old son from a previous one. We no no children of our own. We are suppose to get this kid every second weekend. Thats it. Well his mother has been dumping him with us every weekend and every school holiday. The rest of the time he stays with her mother. When he is with us he is so rude and disobedient that nothing we say he listens to. He has completely ruined all of our furniture, drags mud on our carpets. We just renovated our house and he has just wrecked everything. He talks back and is a smart ass to all adults and treats kids lik dirt. He is the most spoiled child I have ever met. Would it be wrong to ask my partner not to bring him into my home anymore until he can start respected me and our property?

Today is the first time I seriously felt this way. It is a long story, but basically, my dad seems to love his sister, brother, mother more then his own kids and wife. Don't get me wrong, he loves us. But when it comes to situations in which there is a conflict on interest between my dad's sister/mother and me and my mom, then my dad seems to favor his sister/mother every single time.

See, my dad's sister and mother treat my mom and myself like crap. My dad always ignores this fact and even sometimes favors his mom and sister.

What bothers me more is that he is not even approachable to talk about with this issue. He is extremely stubborn about it and usually when we try talking to him about it he yells and ignores us.

And just today I realized that this is hurting me and is giving me a lot of stress. I am 18 by the way, just in case someone is wondering.

Someone please help me. Thanks in advance.

I am an 21, married, and a mother. I am in the middle of yet another serious fight with my mother. When I was a teen, I misbehaved a lot and my mom still cannot forgive me. She has even said that everytime she looks at me she's reminded of the bad times. She has decided that she no longer wants any contact with me or my family because she can't get rid of her anger. These are the things I've done as a child and teen:
1) At 7, I stole something from school and lied about it.
2) At 13, I used to sneak out while baby-sitting my little brother so I can hang out with friends down the street.
3) At 14, I snuck out to see my friends and got drunk for the first time.
4) At 15, I got drunk for the second time. They called the police on me.
5) At 15, my parents and I got into a fight and they kicked me out, which I didn't return for a month.
6) At 16, I skipped school to see my boyfriend.
7) I told my parents I hated them and I'd rather live in a foster home than with them.

Our 18 year old son has been super spoiled most of his life. He has always gotten pretty much whatever he wants. It's starting to backfire on us a bit. Now he even gets $419/month from my Soc Security disability payment while still in high school. He wants to save ALL that money so he can move out asap, by next spring or summer. He does help us out a lot to fix up rental properties that we have....on his own, he offers his help. We pay his $560/month car note, insurance, $370 for private school, he has our gas card, we pay his mobile phone of $50, buy his clothes, etc etc. He is a pretty decent kid, makes great grades, etc.

I would like to know if other parents make their 18 year olds pay for part of their own expenses, especially when they say they are saving to move out !! To me, he should be required to at least pay us a small monthly amount. He works every weekend on our rental property. PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE!!! THANKS!!!!!

I have to tell you I can understand why he divorced her with her unsubmissive attitude lately. I told her to clean up the house and have dinner ready by 6 because I was having a buddy come over for dinner and then we were going to watch the football game. Well, she ended up cleaning the house but she didn't end up cooking dinner. I had to end up ordering pizza. Later that night after my buddy left I asked her why she didn't have dinner ready. She started breaking down and crying and saying that she had tough day and this and that, and I told her I wasn't going to buy this routine so I made her lean over the bed and I spanked her with a hairbrush that was on her dresser. Then she started crying some more and saying I shouldn't spank her anymore and that she wasn't a child. I told her I wouldn't have to if she had been a decent wife and hadn't of upset her husband. I feel that she came back under my roof and she needs to obey male authority. Am I wrong here?
