My step-father basically raisied me since I was 2 so we have a very close relationship. There were times when we bumped heads and the only thing we could do to work it out was really get to know each other. We started to do things the were his favorites or mine and started to have a realtionship that focused on us as father and daughter not the man my mom married or the kid that came in a package deal. Try to see things thru his eyes and have a discussion when you aren't upset.

You can try to keep away from him to avoid conflicts, but avoiding is not the real solution to the problem. You might want to find out what's the reason behind the arguments between you and your step-dad so you can fix the problem and in the end you'll never know that you'll get along with him. Communication is the key. Talk to him...

Both of you are going to have to try cause lets face it-your mom loves you both and neither of you are going anywhere. Take the time now to get along or you may regret it one day. Use you mom as a mediator...in other words all 3 of you sit down and talk like adults...use "I feel" statements and don't blame or accuse the other party. Its going to take some time but there is no reason why you can't start today.

find an outlet. its hard. i've been there. anyway, an outlet, find someone or something to project your feelings on. Don't give him a chance to put words in your mouth. choose your words carefully. this may be a bit akward, but if you ever want to talk halla, my email should be on here.
