if kids are to respect their parents should parents try to be more understanding of their kids by not putting them down i find that some parents think their kids lie 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year until age when ever it is not like parents didn't do wrong when they were young no one is perfect so why can't parents let their kids be just kids as it is supposed to be we will all be all happy

Can you tell me why my man always thinks I'm talking to him like he's a little boy? I am a very communicative person. He barely talks, so when we do have an issue he's always first to shy away and not contribute to the resolution of things. Therefore, I become more emotional and then it seems like I'm talking to a brick wall. How can I do this differently and get the response that our relationship needs to grow.

I always feel guilty about any decision I make that doesn't satisfy them. I always cringe or put off telling them the truth if I know they will disagree with my decision. I try to please them if I can....and then I beat myself up inside because I didn't do what I wanted to do. In fact, this minute, I am in the process of a divorce. My ex of 23 yrs. was controlling and verbally/emotionally abusive and neglectful. They know this, but still applaud me staying with him because of the 3 kids.(20,18, and 12) My mom always makes little inuendos or remarks that are subtle but the point gets across. I love my family and am very attached to them but I can't seem to detach from needing their approval. I hate it. Other women can make their own decisions and if their parents don't like it....so what. How can I get that attitude without feeling like I have betrayed my parents.? My father was an alcoholic and I was sexually abused by him...obviously my mom was a co-dependent Help!

my family members are...
Mom=shes a piano teacher who taught her students in our house; work time 1:00pm-9:00pm (with out rest)
Dad= a professor in bones, he work outside the house; work time 4:00pm-10:30pm
Small Sister=age of 9;school time 7:00-3:30
Myself=im 16; with the same school time

My parents distrust foriegn maids, from our experience they ran away in the last day when they are suppose to return back to their homeland; they offen stay on the phone while doing chores, they hang out with their kind when picking up my sister. They steal.

nowTHE POINT:
since last year, my parents decide to do our chores ourself, both to feel secure and to save some cash. But we kids dont really have time on washing dishes cleaning up, cause we got school works to do. My dad left garbage behind him after he left home, my mom is busy, out living room is total a mess, and they were the one who pile those garbage. Every day my mom complain, everymonth a cokroch, we kids work as slave!HELP!

This started about a month ago. Sometimes she can be easily rocked back to sleep and other times she's hysterical for over an hour. She's always been a pretty good sleeper....would wake for a bottle in the middle of the night then go right back to sleep. I'm lost as to why she is so hysterical. She has no health problems, eats well, naps well during the day....any ideas on what to do or how to handle. I've tried different methods but truthfully I'm not very consistent when we try something new because I'm always concerned it's not the right thing to do so I just hug her and rock her until she cries herself to sleep.

MyMom always complains about houseworks. We are only 5 members of family all are gorwnup.
Recently i Joined an intesive course in a college. Today Morning she opened my bedroom door and saw me reading my note book and make some revisions. She asked me to help her with the houseworks. I told her that i could not cuz I had to study.
First point ( that i need long time to memorize things) so it takes me hours to finish a subject.
Second point that she made me feel guilty today about me rejecting helping her... so i lost my concentration and dwell in thinking about the guilt and feeling bad that i lost the motivation to continue studying...so i threw the book and get on here to find a satifying solution for this damn!
Third point that her reaction and the way she answered me after my refusing was like this....
She talked to me in a sad tone which TELLS( LEAVE what is in your hands), her face told me like she did not accept my reply.
please keep on reading the details...will write

My oldest daughter is 10. She is very smart and at the end of last school year they suggested that we let her move on to 6th grade middle school and skip 5th grade. We did not see it as a problem as I had skipped 2 grades during my 12 years in public school. With out a problem. But now we are wondering if we made a mistake. Since school has started she has really changed. She used to be a happy go lucky kid who got along with everyone. Now she is back talking us, coping an attitude towards her brother and sister. And generally being a pain in the rear. She has also started to be sneaky like wearing make up, and then washing it off before we can see her. And wearing clothes that she knows we don't approve of. She also has very little to do with the friends she has grown up with. Her grades are still good. But her attitude bits. We are trying to decide if we should move her back to elementary school. Or what to do to get her over this phase. Any suggestions? Or comments?
Thank You

I live with my dad and he thinks I won't be moving out for awhile. Well my boyfriend found this nice place with cheap rent and wants me to move in with him and I really want to too. How do I go about telling him cuz I know he'll snap, especially since its with a guy in a 1 bedroom apartment (but I'm 18, so its not wrong)? My parents did the same thing, move in together at a really young age. And my mom had my stepdad move in with her after only knowing each other for a few weeks, and my dad lives with his gf that he know screws him over. So they shouldn't freak.

I am dealing with alot of diffrent issues lately and my fiance is just being un reasonable with me, My son has ADHD he is 11 Ive had him on medication and with the OK from his doctor we took him off it because he didnt like the way it made him feel, well he has been struggling terribly in his acedemics and behaivor, so I had him put back on it at a lesser dosage and also get him couseling through school, my fiance says Im stupid for "drugging" him back up but since hes been back on his grades went from D's and F's to C's and B's. Next my grandfather is ill and might have lung cancer the man raised me so hes like my dad and I have much respect for him. I am stressed out and walking around depressed and all my fiance can do is yell at me and not give me the support I need, Ive had enough I want to leave him and I want to know if this is the right thing for me to do, I need serious advice only, no smart @$$ comments Im dealing with enough.

My husband refuses to see my family because they did not support us after a very unpleasant s*xual assault from my cousin. In fact, they continue contact with the perpetrator's family & have just swept the whole incident under the carpet. They cannot understand why we are hurt by this. I find it very upsetting to see them, knowing all this but if I don't see them I miss them, so feel I would be cutting of my nose to spite my face as they say...I've tried explaining to them how I/we feel but they just say because we don't have contact with the perpetrator & his family does not mean to say they don't have to...Am I better off forgetting my family...all they do is upset me when I spend time with them...or will I regret it later? Plus my nieces & nephews are innocent parties in all this...please help!
