It all depends when he was born. Your best bet is probably going to be through local records. You local council should have details from his electoral roll information. Your county records office may have details of his census information, and public announcements of his marriage etc.

There is lots of family history material at the National Archives in Kew, but his date of birth is probably going to have been too recent for any material to yet be in the public domain.

When was he born, and did he serve in the Armed Forces at any time? The answers to these 2 questions would tell me where to begin looking.
