For my mom, the best thing is always to spend time with her kids. We usually have a family only party, usually at one of our houses, good food and usually a little jewelry we all pitch in to buy.

If it is just you, make a day of it, take her out to lunch and then for a manicure and pedicure. If you can believe it, I did this for my mom a few years ago and it was her first time (age 60 something). She loves a pedicure now and gets one a couple times a year.

A cute and free birthday present is a Happy Birthday Singing Dog video, you can send her the link or download the video and send it that way. Will make her smile 100% :)

A make-over would be my idea for a great birthday treat. Write to Phil and Fern on the 'This Morning' programme and they might be able to arrange it :)

There's loads more ideas on there like a chocolate making workshop and falconry. You may want to avoid choosing the poledancing lesson! LOL

Get her a gift certificate to a spa. Then she can decide what she wants to have done there. You can do a lot at a spa for 100.00. An woman would love this gift! I sure would!
