This is a complicated one. I will try to keep it as simple as possible. My son is 27 and living with his girlfriend about same age. They have had 2 children together. Two beautiful girls. Recently we have encountered a serious problem in our relationship.

I divorced his mother 20 years ago. I decided to get clean and sober and she wanted no part of it. I had to leave. A year later I ended up taking my 2 boys away from her and raising them myself. They were 7 and 9 at the time. She was not taking care of them properly and was dating one of the biggest drug dealers in our city. She ended up marrying him.

Well the current problem is my sons girlfriend has become like, the daughter my x-wife never had, and they are together all the time. She wants my current wife and I to attend all of my grandaughters birthday parties, even though my x-wife and family will be there. We have tried it a couple of times and have been very uncomfortable. There is a lot of drinking and with all the hard feelings there are between us bad things could happen. Neither my current wife nor I drink. We have decided we do not want to attend any more birthday parties where my x-wife and her husband are present. I met with both of them and explained the situation. My sons girlfriend got very upset about this and, unfortunately, they are now not talking to us.

I think this whole thing is pretty rediculous. I should not have to go to any functions where my x-wife and drug dealer husband are, if I don't want to. I am dissappointed in my son for backing them and not me. Now I don't get to see my grandchildren either. I would appreciate any suggestions you have. Thanks a lot. Mike

sometimes i'm shocked by what people put on their myspace. It seems like many girls use it as a place to post slutty pics, then i'll often see guys posting pimplike pics with the slutty looking girls. I have a myspace, but i keey it g rated...why make yourself look like a ho? I also notice that the people i know always look worlds better on their myspace...im like is that you? ok i guess this is rant, but does anyone agree? sometimes i think the net has changed things for the worst. i have actually 'nexted' guys over their myspace...

I have gotten into trouble with drinking recently so my parents bought a breathalyzer. Now everytime I come home from going out, they make me blow in it. I think they are being extremely over the top but I can see their concern with drinking and driving. Finally I have just become so fend up with them not being able to trust be without having the proof that I told them I was not going to take the test anymore. They automatically assumed I was drinking. They found an open beer can in my backseat from a friend who left it in my car and accoused me for it. They now are going to sell my car. How can I get them to not sell my car and finally trust me again? What should I do? Please give suggestions and don't judge :)

Hi, I am an Indian guy studying in USA. I am 26 yrs old. About a year and half ago I met this girl on orkut who also happens to be my school mate. Now we have been dating on internet, phone for that time.

When I showed her pictures to my family, they said you can get a better girl than this. Since we are of the same age, Recently her mom forced her to get commitment from me. Now I can't go back to india at least for a year.

So my question is, how can I give my commitment to a girl whom I haven't even met? 'Casue seeing through internet and seeing personally makes a lot of differece.

We had become really good friends and I let him stay with me until he got back on his feet. I wanted to be more than friends but he did not. I decided to respect that, and I am glad I did because I noticed that he has very selfish ways about him. He is disrepectful by talking to other women around me and overall just does not have my best interest in mind. He recently told me that he doesnt want to be loved by me and that if he and I were on a train track and a train was coming he would jump off first without thinking about me. But for some reason this guy says that he cares about me. I think he is talking out of both sides of his mouth becasue you do not say something like that about a person you care about. I told him that he has to leave but I do not want there to be tons of tension between us while the transition of him leaving is happening. How do I slowly rid myself of somebody but still remain civil during the breakup? I do not want any more drama.

In my opinion you should always love your mom more then your wife. I am 19 single and dont plan on ever getting married, but if some day I do she will come second to my mom and sister. I just answered a question about a mommas boy and he was definitely one, but just cuz you love ur mom more then a wife doesn't mean ur a moms boy. I love my mom more then anything, but I am not a mommas boy. there are a lil ""fire". I think about my ex alot even more then my boyfriend. Well ill tell you the story.,.,., i met this very cute guy (my ex) and we pretty much hitted it off right away. He asked me out, and i said yes but im not going to lie i cant stay with one guy you can call me a slut but who cares. When i found out, i went off on my mom, calling her all sorts of names, i was upset, i felt lied to, my dad is my stepdad, but he has been there for me since i was 3 yrs old. I had the upmost respect for my mother until this happened. and now i dont have the nerve to talk to her as i have so much hatred for what she did. The reason she gave was that my dad hasnt worked in a 1yr, to me that is not an excuse at all, you dont go cheat on your husband of 20 years just because he doesnt have a job.
