I *almost* married the first man I ever dated, but the long-distance relationship (he lived predominantly in Europe and I lived in the U.S.) proved too difficult to maintain.
That was when I was 17. I've since dated 9 men and 5 women. I've never come close to marrying any of the men. I would have married my last girlfriend, however, if it were recognized in my state. As it stood, we had a marriage ceremony... and then she left me for a man... *sigh*

5 for the first marriage, it lasted 1 yr, after I got divorced I didn't' date for a while, then I married the first girl I dated. That lasted 17 yrs. Now I've dated about 5 women in the past 2 yrs, not sure I'll ever get married again.

5 Then I dated my husband for 6 years before we got married. Now we have been married 5 years. Take your time and make wise decisions don't rush into anything. Love is patient.

Like Davit T I did the same. In our country/culture dating was not allowed in our time. We used to meet secretly here and there and both of us squeezed all the pleasure of dating except ejaculation. To day we are together and will continue till we breath our last. When we recall our past dating business we laugh and say," sweet were those days that we left behind".

I had 5 serious boyfriend before my husband & I got together, and about a dozen guys I went out with only once (they were more for the company than the romance).

I'm probably going to throw the curve way off here. It was way over 100. If your definition of "date" is more of a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, then it was less. Probably more like 30 to 40.
