If I try to talk about things then I am accused of being mardy. I am 47 years old and dont wont to live round a drunk, I cook, clean, etc. and hes well looked after, but its not enough. Am I wasting my time or should I keep trying?

My husband and I were married for a short while before he was sent off to prison for 4 years. Now he has been out for a few weeks. He is adapting pretty good, he has already found a job and wants to do better this time.
My problem is that as his wife, I know he is having some psychological issues, but I dont know how to deal with him. How can I help to "re-build" his self esteem without hurting his feelings or insulting his manhood.
Can someone please tell me how to deal with this, I am becoming very stressed, because I feel that I need to be there for him.

7yrs. The thing is I don't really like his parents, his dad is ok but his mum she is two faced, she talks about me behind my back (even in my own house) then is nice to me the next as though i don't know. The thing is when we first got engaged we were constantly being asked when we going to have kids etc and now his sister has a baby to some lad she hasn't know two minutes (lucky it has worked out ok) anyway his parents are all for his sister and it winds me up how different they treat him to his sister she comes first he comes second, they visit her every week and us once a month if we r lucky. Anyway its his sisters 21st this month and my partner has decided that he isn't going because since his sister got with this bloke she doesn't bother with him unless she wants something (he has finally seen it!). I can guarantee they will think i have told him not to go, how can I handle this without me losing it and telling them exactly what i think about them...

My friend recently got married after she found out she was expecting their first child! Her now husband is filthy rich, its been 9 months after the couple big church wedding! and I cant seem to find their state marriage licenses on file! She would never admit to me! but is it possible to have a church wedding ceremony infront of a priest, and never file for a marriage licenses in the state??? I guess they are married infront of God, not infront of the Government! they are married, but maybe not legally???. . . Maybe it was his way of having a wife in the public eye, but keeping his money!

This weekend was my aunt’s party! It was all top notch.. Bar men, waiters- n' all that! So being as it was a special occasion, I had a few drinks - nothing wrong with that right??

I had stuff like Bacardi & Coke, Screwdriver, Baileys, Mailbu etc. I probably had about 6 drinks! I wasn’t drunk, but I was a bit happy lol.. i actually chose to be, coz the party was getting boring and it needed some excitement!

The next day my 28 yr old cousin was telling my aunt and uncle at work about "how drunk I was and cant be trusted" and " how he was going to tell my dad" I actually spoke to my dad that night telling him that id had a few drinks, so he trusted me - the thing is, I don’t want to get a bad rep. My cousins been telling everyone.. I find this totally un fair – What should I do??

PS. Im 15 and only have drinks on special occasions – I hardly ever go out..

me and my friend were suppost to go to the lake. so anyway, we had planned to go to the lake for about 1 week in advance. the night before i call her and tell her i can go at 12 b/c i have to work on a paper before. she wanted to go at like 10. but my mom wouldnt let me go unless i worked on the paper. so then i get a call the day of when we are suppost to go to the lake and it is my friend telling me she is sick. I believe it because she hardly ever lies to me. then my other friend finds out that she went with this one girl that she tells everyone she doesnt like and then goes and hangsout with her. my friend even admits to going to the lake with the other girl on the phone. my other friend called her and we did a 3-way but i was on mute. i heard from my friend's mouth say she ditched me for the other girl that she apparently hates. i know she doenst hate her. and i am just so pissed right now. this makes her a backstabber right? and what can i do? i was thinking of just ignoring her.

Additional Details

i cant tell her that i know cause i promised my other friend i wouldnt say anything (she was my friend that told me and helped with the 3-way) and by the way we are all sophomores.

I have written before about my wife of thirty years, who abruptly threw me out, although very, very calmly. It had something to do with extreme delays in my *!!* doctoral thesis (now a shambles). I am surrounded by couples breaking up at about the same stage in life: after twenty or thirty years, the wife calmly announces (among the standard lines that came up in EVERY case I know) that

a) she wants to do something else with her life (something, hum, creative);
b) he decision has nothing to do with him (he must not feel so important...), it all proceeds from a deep evolutionary change inside her.

I am devastated. It has been nine months now, and she NEVER calls, and has forbidden me to discuss reconciliation.

One fellow tells me that 'they' (the jilting wives) usually come back after a while (his took two or three years; he refused her). I am at the end of my rope.

Does anyone out there know of just one example of a marriage that healed after the wife had broken it up in this way?

i had a break from my boyfriend as he kept being unreliable, and not sticking to arrangements and forgetting he had made them,i warned him not to keep doin it but he did so i said i wanted to go on a break,i cut off contact from him,he was gutted, after a few days i went 2 meet him as he sounded in a bad way,he had been crying, not goin 2 work, constantly trying to get hold of me etc.we didnt talk about the argument as i didnot want to have another argument and he just wanted things back to normal, so we were very civil, so i think he thinks we are back together, since then he has not bothered to contact me, which is really annoying as he was so upset when he thought it was gonna b over, and wouldnt stop calling me, but now he thinks that we are ok he has not bothered to make any effort. surely he should be trying to meet me again and make it up 2 me? am i over reacting? it feels like he thinks he has got away with it, and will probably do it again cos i have taken him back, advice please

Me and My Ex broke up two weeks ago and she's been sending me emails here and there saying things like "Tell your friends to stop bothering me". Well, my friends don't have her email address or her telephone number and she lives 5 hours away. Shes saying her webtv is now tapped that the Police have tapped it and will find out who's sending her these emails, lol. I said OK dear, lol. Well yesterday she kept emailing me about it and then said "I was told not to talk about it so I won't say anymore, lol". I told her goodnight and said sweet dreams and she didn't respond. Should I email her a good morning today? OR should I just let her be and see if she emails me? She's an older woman so she gets in weird moods sometimes. Yes, we did break up, her doing and she told me not to contact her. However she's contacting me with these mysterious emails. What should I do?
