Can a wife abuse her husband???

2007-08-08 11:17:21 · 14 answers · asked by G S 1 in Marriage & Divorce

All of my friends RSVPed, except one. She is still UNDECIDED (!!!).
I asked her friend why? Turned out she is upset she is not a bridesmaid .
We never really kept in touch after graduation. I invited her because she is my bridesmaid's best friend.
I got a feeling she wants me to ask (beg) her personally to attend my wedding. I thought the invitation was enough!

Should I do it, so everyone is happy? Or just let her be?

my closest sister is getting married...
her fiance is very nice but at the same time he's manipulative (like her), annyoing, has no trust, bi polar, and he's very competitive, and he wants her to spend all her time with him... i mean she his kinda like him. he's really cool as a person but not as a husband. But i know he's not abusive hes got no addictiona and is very religious.
I'm having emotional problems and i feel like i shouldn't talk to her (since i've told her what hes like in our view) i feel mad at her for no reason and when she's around i get gloomy and feel depressed im the youngest and she's like a second mom to me. I dont know wat to do! HELP! and she only spends like 15 hours in total a week

Right now I feel VERY depressed!
I am married, but lonely.
I am in college, but school doesnt start for a couple of weeks, and lately I have not been in the mood for school. I feel like I need a break!
My husband is in the US Air force. Even though we make just enough money to pay the bills every month....it is just not enough. We really want to buy a house, and we really want to have a baby soon. If I continue college I will have my bachelor degree in around two years...maybe a little longer, maybe a little less?
Anyway....I dont know what to do anymore. Im sick of how my life is going because I cant do anything that I want to do, and I wont be able to until at least a few more years, and I just cant wait that long.
I have always liked the idea of joining the airforce , and it is starting to sound even more great.......Ive talked to people, and chances are..I would be based with my husband?

So, what do you think?

I am the mother of a 3 year old little girl who is my world. Her father and I were never married and haven't been together since just after my baby was born. He married someone else about 2 years ago who has a lot going for her and takes an active role in my daughter's life. I am not married but I have a serious boyfriend who doesn't participate much with my daughter. Even though my ex's wife has never done anything to me and my daughter likes her, I just can't stand her. How do I get her to butt out?

Long story short... my boyfriend was away for the summer and things were tense, so we both decided to take a little break and try dating again when he got back. Now he is back and we have been dating and everything is great again, except occasionally he will say, "let's hang out later," then call and say he changed his mind, he's tired, he's sick, etc. I almost feel like he is playing games and trying to have the upper hand in the relationship, or is testing me to see how i will react. We are not a "couple" again yet, just seeing how things go before we jump into anything again. Do I have a right to be annoyed by this since we're not serious or exclusive, or am I overreacting?

(And I know for a FACT he is not cheating/dating other girls. He tells everyone he has a girlfriend because our relationship is too complicated to try and explain and we have many mutual friends who would tell me if anything was up.)

Thanks.

I know this is stupid but i think it should be mandatory for people have to wait at least 6 months and LIVING TOGETHER before they can get married! Maybe i am wrong for saying this! But divorce is the highest it has ever been! Does any one value marriage anymore isn't marriage sacred anymore? So many people taking vows and cheating and other things! My thoughts on stripe joints and marriage another story! HA!

We are having a tiny wedding. Just us and our parents. And i need a pretty, casual, maternity wedding dress. Most sites only have really formal gowns and that won't suit us. I'm having trouble finding what i need, and time is really running out!!!

My husband's best friend, also my best friend's husband, hit on me the other day. He has talked about wanting to sleep with me and everything. In fact the other day when he was here to pick up the lawnmower he even went so far as using my one year old son to try and pull my shirt down. Well, after that I told my husband and he blamed me and told me if I wanted him to stop I needed to tell him to stop. So, I did. Then, just a few minutes ago he called. And now my husband is out of town at A.T. with the National Guard. And while he was on the phone he said he couldn't get hold of his honey so he thought he would call his other honey. I just dunno what to do!! I want my husband to know that he's still doing it, but our marriage is rocky already and I don't want to ruin it. Also, my friend deserves to know what a pig she married, but what if she just blows it off or gets mad at me like my husband did. I don't have many friends so I really don't want to lose her or him!!

Okay, the wedding is this weekend and we etched beer mugs with the groomsmen and ushers names on them for their presents. The ushers are not old enough to drink and my mom is insisting on including a note saying something like, "We know you're not old enough to drink...blah, blah...but you can keep forever...blah, blah...thanks for being a part of our special day." Or something to that effect. I'm not that plain! I like cutesy sayings and stuff, but my brain is spent! I cannot think of anything cute. Please give me some ideas for a cute saying to go with giving a beer mug to both the groomsmen (who are old enough to drink) and the ushers (who are NOT old enough to drink).

My sis had a baby last August, we had a good relationship until then, sharing secrets etc.
Now she is ignoring me and my other sister, who is similarly upset. She never calls, but expects me to call her - my Mum helps her out a lot for free, and gets flak from my sis if she doesn't put her first. When I was ill last year my sis kicked off because my Mum was supposed to go and help her that day. I was ill and was about to go away for a week. She needed help with the baby. To her, she was more important.
I find this selfish and want it to stop.
What interests me most is that my sis was the world's biggest critic of other parents, before she was one herself. I was an observer of other parents, not really wishing to condemn them. Now she is the world's biggest hypocrite.
I want to do something about it but talking to her is not the answer. She is not receptive and never apologises for anything she does. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has had a similar experience. Thanks in advance

I saw my ex this weekend. He got a big smile on his face when he saw me. He kept touching my hand, trying to hug me and could not take his eyes off of me. He told me to call him the next time I am in town and that we would spend some time together. He called me that same night to see if I got home okay and called me sweetheart. If I text him, he texts right back. Is it possible that he might still have feelings for me or is he just being a friend?

My friend, I don't want to give out his real name, so I'll call him 'Joe,' lives in a large city (similar to Boston) and from time to time he sees midgets. Joe will not stop talking to me about them, and it's been months now. I think he wants to date one, because I joked with him about it once, and he got all serious. He's gone out on dates with girls before, but they never work out. I really think he needs to date a midget just to get this out of his system. Or maybe that is what would make him truly happy. I wish I could say I was making this up, but it is true. Should I encourage Joe to talk to the next midget he sees, and maybe ask her out? Is that too extreme?

I am married to a kenyan man who believes that the wife should take care of the house and children, and he should work. Right now I am not working and he is on the road at a week at a time. I can count on my one hand how many times he has done the dishes or even vacumed. Is this something that all african men believe or do you think it's something that he just believes.
