Is your Love unconditional or just "Love"?

2007-08-08 10:17:08 · 5 answers · asked by Anonymous in Singles & Dating

I will keep this short. I am married to a quiet guy who hates conflict. So if I bring up something that needs to be discussed he acts like I am looking for a fight and avoids talking about it. That builds up tension in me, and then we both end up ignoring each other. This goes on and on.
He has said that I am the problem, and I feel that if we can't talk about things then he is the problem.
I love him but don't know what to do.
Should I go get some counceling, or just continue to live my own life, living in the same house as him? I feel like he is a roomate most of the time.
We have been married 2 yrs. both on our 2nd marriage.

I am, and I do not know what to think of now... even my best single friend - is now offically seeing someone for 6 months, I am kinda getting the feeling that i will be a 60yr old, who has never been in a serious relationship and is incapable of finding someone who actually interests me for more then 1 weeek, I don't quite understand it right now...

I just feel totally alone, almost like stuck on a deserted island with no hope of return, and Its not like I want to be single anymore, but I don't want to settle either... Yes, I am one of those career focused, ego c3entrics, But I dont get it the world is crashing down, and I ALWAYS buy my own tickets for stuff when out with my friends... I honestly feel a little jealous when they split costs and I pay FULL price, and my food etc...

I guess its just the feeling of looking at them happy (all of them) and seeing I am the opposite at that time...

Please Help

husbands? Well....we all made a conscious choice to marry them didn't we? We choose who we marry. So didn't we bring some of these problems on ourselves? Did we not take enough time to really get to know them? Did we settle because we were afraid to be alone? And...Yes....husbands change but few turn into Mr. Hyde once you say I Do. Sometimes I think women forget this fundamental fact.

What cha think?

My husband has never hit me.
We are OK financially.
He has always been very quiet and serious.
He is a binge alcoholic, I don't provoke him about it.
He says he loves me, but he is very unaffectionate.
He stiffens up when I show him affection such as a hug.
He is a light sleeper who prefers to slleep alone.
He is not compassionate when I've been sick/
He hates funny movies and tv shows and rarely smiles.
When we were dating, he was loving and passionate.
He is very clean and nice looking.
He thinks I am spoiled and do not pull my weight. I think I do.
We've been married nearly 5 years with lots of emotional ups and downs.
He does not believe in counselling or therapy.
He will be very very hard to deal with in a divorce situation.
I am just wondering if I will be better or worse of if I go on my own. I know I will not be well off financially and might have to live very simply.
Please, for those of you who have divorced, have any of you wished you had stayed???

I am getting married october 6th and am not sure if I need a coordinator to help with rehersal & getting down the isle. I have everything already planned out and all vendors scheduled & such. I am not sure if I really need to pay someone to help me with this or if we could just do it ourselves. Also how much is reasonable to pay for someone to do this? Thanks

i'm sorry if i end up bragging a lot in this

anyway, i have problems getting any guys to like me. but i'd say i'm pretty decent :\
i mean, i was voted sweetest & best dressed for 8 grade favorites in middle school. i play basketball and cheerleading for my school.
here comes the unintentional bragging...
i'd say i'm pretty. i get compliments on my smile and eyes a lot. i'm a 34D and i'm pretty thin, even though my butt's not worship worthy or anything..
all my friends say i'm really funny too, and i get good grades.
i know appearance shouldn't matter, but i wouldn't call myself ugly or personality deprived.?

so what's wrong other than the fact that it sounds like i apparently brag too much.

I am estranged from my adult daughter and I do not want her suddenly appearing if I am incapacitated and making health decisions for me or involving herself in my assets. I want her to have no rights whatsoever where I am concerned.

I know its sad but I need to prepare for this possibility.

Thanks

A friend of mine and I use to be close, but last year I had to quit school for a semester and wasn't able to tell her ahead of time, now everytime I talk to her she seems distant and cold, for a while it felt like we were getting close again but then nothing.

My maternal grandparents live very close are will definitely be able to attend my wedding. However my paternal grandparents live on the other side of the country and have serious health issues. I do not want them to feel I expect them to make such a long trip but I do not want to be rude and not invite them. Should I send them an invitation anyway?

I am thinking about what decision to make regarding myself and my 15 year old daughter. She is staying with me and my parents currently.

Her Dad has sole physical and legal custody of her. We are trying to decide whether to get back together or if she should stay with me - change custody arrangements.

My parents have their own opinion of the situation and think that I will be "blamed for everything" and "not have the freedom that I should" if I get back together with my ex-husband.

They think that I should keep my daughter with me and stay with them.

I think that its my marriage to reconcile or not. I don't know how to deal with their strong opinions and opposition though.

I want to take my daughter's feelings into account. She is not that comfortable living with them and definitely wants us to move out and I agree with her.

I have to deal with a strong influence from my parents or ex-husband.
