I want to be part of my 15yrs old sons life.My ex and I broke up when my son was 4yrs old. I have maintained an active role in his life since, but because I wont agree to a reconcilliation with ex,she has stiffiled the relationship that I have with my son,by telling all sorts of lies to child govering agencies, costing me immensly in time and money. My son is suffering, and has just been kicked out of one of his school classes, for disruptive behavior in class,I think, rebelling against the situation.I have consulted many legal agencies, including solicitors and court for help, who have all advised "it is up to the mother".If she is trying her best, but clearly cannot have his best interest at heart, how can I help him to help himself,as she will only permit 3hrs per week with him,no visits,or phone calls,to his home&he has no friends i pay for her lavish holidays, through the CSA,whilst he hasn't even been provided with new clothes for school in the past 3yrs,and petrifies him with threats.

My husband is currently serving 15 months in Iraq. In two weeks he is coming home for R & R...that is a mid-\
deployment trip home for two weeks. He will be home on our 5th year anniversary. We have two childern ages 2 and 3. I want to go to Florida over the weekend just him and me without the kids. IF we did that then it would take time away from the childern and like I said he is only here for two weeks and then gone until April 08. Should I cancel the trip or take time for just us? The reason they can't go is because we would be going deep sea fishing and they are too young.

Its finally my husbands week off and its been great. We had our 7 th wedding anniversary on mothers day and he had to work but still let me know he loves me and bought me a half dozen roses and 2 cards. He told me we could do something on his next weekend off. Here it is and he already made plans to go drink beer w/ his friends. He isnt big on the shopping and looking around thing unless its a hunting store so I thought maybe we could just hang out w/ some people and have a good time. But he wants to that by himself and it makes me feel bad. I am not a big drinker and I am not a kind a mom who leaves her kids to go drinking all night but every no and then it would be nice to get a break from our kids and enjoy each other and socialize. He told me that when we go to places like this that I dont talk to anyone so thats why he would rather do it by himself. Hello he doesnt ever take me around his friends so I can. Some of his friends have never seen me before as of last year.

A man and a woman go out on a first date. While eating dinner at an expensive restaurant, the woman insults the man, and the man decides to end the date before dessert. He stands up and places cash on the table equivalent to the value of the food he ordered for himself, plus a generous tip. The woman demands that he pay for her as well. The police arrive to settle the matter. What happens next? Who is legally required to pay?

I have a sister who is 16 years younger than I am.We never lived in the same place and recently have moved in the same area. Its been great getting to know her but she is constantly letting me know that I am getting older, even to the point of having 2 separate bachlorette partys. One to have fun and one to include the "older women". Even my daughter has'nt made me feel this way. Would you ingnore it or confront her? Our parents have both passed on so as far as family I am it for her.

From what I've seen, marriage and family life are so difficult, but the only people I've ever known that have remained unmarried all their lives are either homosexuals (who can now marry where I live), very unattractive women, or men with extremely controlling mothers. Are there people who can remain unmarried their whole lives without being ugly, pathetic, or lonely? Do you know any such people who seem happy being single their whole lives?

I do not want my sister to attend our step whores funeral. She ran off with our father, and the 2 of them raised her children and had one together. They lived in a big house, went to college, never sent child support, holiday gifts, zero acknowledgement to the 3 of us.I have zero respect for them, and anyone who does this. I feel my sister should not show honor by attending the funeral of a selfish, thoughtless, whore!! Your opinion?

I'm pretty sure the baby is mine, but my neighbor is so happy his wife is having "his" baby. She doesn't want to tell him it's not his, because it would expose the affair. She thinks he won't know and would only find out if one of us spills the beans. Should I just keep my mouth shut? I feel like one of those birds, that lays eggs in other birds nests, and let's the other bird raise their young.

I am in my mid 20s and lots of my friends are getting married, but one thing that is really bothering me is that all of them are expecting gifts, expensive gifts, not just at their wedding showers, but at their engagement parties, their bachelor/bachelorette parties and then also at their actual weddings. When I was growing up my parents taught me that a gift at the shower or at the wedding itself if you weren't invited to the shower was good etiquette, but my boyfriend get so embarrassed when everyone else brings gifts to every occasion and I insist that we are fine. Are we wrong for not bringing $50+ gifts to every event or are our friends wrong for expecting gifts at every event surrounding the wedding?

I want to thank all for the advice in my last question, now here is another. My son's mother and I have nearly been together for almost 10 years, marriage was an issue at one time, but it was a little more one sided meaning that I would be the one that will mention it and she would accept what things, but she has no other input on when, where or anything else. We have done things to each other that resulted in feelings being hurt, but we forgave but have not forgotten. At some point we have done alot of breaking up and getting back together. Just last year we broke up over another guy which was my friend from high school which it took some doing to tell me that was who she was seeing and she felt that she wanted to give him a chance. I don't know if she gave me another chance due to how bad I was going through the break up but she did and finally told me who it was at that time. Now she has left again and about the same time this year as last year. Her reason are different this time.

Every dog we've ever had has run away, but now my mom wants another one. My dad doesn't and they've really been at odds about this. That being said, my mom usually gets her way whether we like it or not. I'm just worried that my dad won't love the dog if it comes and my mom will only get angrier at him. I don't think getting a dog is a good idea. Is there any way I can reason with her. We love dogs but we have such terrible luck with them.

I asked one of my friend's sister (who i was close with) if I could borrow her brother's shirt and so I did for a day and then I felt guilty so I gave it back to her the very next day. But then he found out and he's not talking to me but we weren't really talking to each other in the first place we'd talk once in a while(it's complicated he has a girlfriend) and I'm just afraid he won't talk to me again.

So what I'm asking is would you be freaked out if a girl you knew borrowed your shirt from your sister?

How bout if you liked her would you still be freaked out?

Would you still talk to her and how would you feel?

I regret and feel embrassed about this...

A friend of mine asked me for a piece of advice and I'd like to inquire your opinions / experience.

He has been in a great relationship with a girl for the past 4 years. They have lived together for the last year and they have a very good relationship in all aspects. He is 25 and she is 22.

However, it is his FIRST AND ONLY relationship in his entire life and he obviously is having a hard time evaluating it as he has nothing to compare it to.

The fact is that he is doing a relocation next year and he must decide now whether his girlfriend would join him (she want to). Her joining him, obviously, means that they will MARRY. And so the question comes down to should he marry her?

Any advice / insights you can share with me and the rest of the world for the benefit of those who find gold on their first strike would be highly appreciated.

I have a Ex Girl friend that we have a 7 year old son together. I have the primary custody of my son and have been doing very well with him which shows in his attitude and school progress. Me and my son's mother are pretty much fighting over stupid things, but I still love her, but tired of fightintg with her. I just want to be left alone and do what I need to do for my son, he has a issue with this as well but I am working to help him through it. My only problem is that for sake of having to get into any more figths with her, I just want to be left alone and do what we need to do for our son, so I am thinking about asking her for child support which would eleminate any possible fights all the time. She feels that she will give him what ever he wants and needs IE: video games, cloths etc etc. Would I be wrong to ask for child supoport just for sake of argument? Please excuse any mispelled words here just got finish with a fight with my son's mother for doing this.
