When I was in school last century, we were taught how mullosks make their shells by mixing carbon dioxide with the calcium in the sea water. Ok, I'm no chemist, but it seems to me that if they could lock the carbon dioxide into a solid form at normal temperatures, it would stay that way longer than trying to store it under the ocean as a potentially deadly present for future generations. Heck, they can put men on the moon, so locking CO2 up with calcium should be a no brainer.

Everyone knows how to recycle and how easy it is to put thing in the right bucket at the end of the week but, although it does a lot of good, it isn't a solution.

Now we've all been educated about recycling should we not now focus on getting people to REDUCE the amount of packagain/cans etc we use and purchase and RE-USING wherever possible?

recycled products, like notebook and loose leaf paper? Or paper made from alternative sources? I'm trying to teach my 6 year old daughter about conserving our environment. She loves to draw and write little books, and I love that she is so creative, but she uses so much paper. I would love to find some paper for her that is more environmentally friendly. Thanks!

1) Fresh water is in short supply, we´d better start saving it.
2) We could use sea water for applications like toilet flushing, thus save many gallons of water every day worldwide.
3) Governments should start to invest on dessalination plants and on how to use polar ice for domestic use.
4) It´s easier (and cheaper) to ask the population to save water than to invest in filtering plants.
5) The water is not going anywhere, it just takes time to go through its cycle and come back to us.
