What is the purpose for a human, or in fact ANY thing on earth... if you are talking in the immediate sense, then what kinda fly, flies produce maggots which help with waste disposal in areas that use cess pits... and lets not forget the medical use of maggots in cleaning rotting areas of flesh... although not a treatment i would like very much i am sure pretty life saving...

The fly serves an important purpose. It helps break down decomposing matter more quickly so it can be absorbed back into the earth. They also serve as food for animals like frogs.

Flies lay eggs on decomposing bodies. The maggots that hatch eat the body.
That way nature gets rid of rotting stinky meat quickly, solving what would be a mayor health and odour problem.
CSI also count the amount of fly egg to tell how old a body is.
So Sherlock Fly I presume.

It may have its own purpose among its community ( bugs and flies).... but I bet the bugs and flies will be asking the same about us

Flies help break down and ultimately recycle dead animals. Imagine the world of dead animals without their bodies being recycled!

OTOH i can't understand what is "purpose" of a mosquito - apart from its larvae feeding fish fry.

Remember flies can transfer pollen from flower s to flowers that is cross germinate and at the same time they are food for other insects like cameleons and such like.

Flies depose of waste by eating it just like most insects. Also they are a food source for many animals.
