Which school is the best and why? I either want to go into the medical or law field, but I live in Georgia so UGA would be the cheapest definately. But which is the best in your opinion and why?

I live in virginia and am applying to only in-state universities. I don't have the grades or gpa to try to get into UVA or William and Mary. But I am applying to James Madison, Virginia Tech, and some other safety schools. I have a gpa of 3.52 and an SAT score of 1820 (630 critical reading and 580 math) i have taken a ton of APs, and have done some extracurricular sports. I am a senior by the way. What are my chances of getting accepted into James Madison and Virginia Tech? Any virginia residents please help me out.

Is it true if your a minority you can get into college and a medical school easier? I'm Hispanic, and I believe I am the smartest Mexican at my school (all A's and 2 B's).

Hello everyone-I am currently working on a proposal about the absense of the fine arts in public education. To get some ethos involved, I thought maybe it would be a good idea to find quotes from people that support and stress the fine arts. Anything having to do with the finding a creative channel, learning how to express yourself, or even find higher truths.

Any and all input is appriciated-hopefully with the right help, this assingment will turn into more than just a final project.

I wrote a two page paper and my teacher called me telling me she wanted to have a meeting about my paper. She said my introduction seemed to be a higher level than the rest of my work. She searched on google and found that 2 sentences out of the two pages I wrote were similiar to an article on the web. She said it wasn't blatant but I should have cited that part. She went on to say that the part I plagerised was something I didn't even need to put in the paper, that it was irrelevant. Because it didn't seem like I was cheating on my entire paper that she was giving me the benefit of the doubt and I just had to rewrite the paragraph instead of giving me an F on the entire course. I admit I probably made a mistake and I should have cited my source. It was an honest mistake I had no intention of plagerising, cheating by using one sentence is stupid, 99 percent of the paper was mine. They are going have this put on my permanent record. I really feel like this isn't right.Should I protest?

I am in my mid-twenties, and never finished college and would like to finish what I started. I completed a year of Community College after high school, however I gave up school to work Full Time. When I was younger I only went to school because it was what everyone else was doing, it wasn't right for me at the time. Now that I have been out of High School for 8 years, I would love to go back and finish. However, things are different now. I am not working, but I am a full time mom to an infant. I do NOT want to or have the money to use daycare. So I would have to do night classes. However my husband is the only one brining in an income, since I am at home. So that leaves us with no extra money for me to go to school. I really want to get my degree so when my son is older, and ready for preschool, I can work as well. Any advice, have any of you been down this road. Is there any financial aid for someone who is in my position, not exactly poor, but money is very tight?

I am going to apply for a job as a french tutor. The thing is there are several universities I could go to and I have no idea what I should write as a form of address since I don't know who'll read it.

Someone told me I could write " To whom it may concern", but doesn't it sound a bit careless?

Hello,
I graduated from college in Dec 06 with a Bus-Finance degree. I got a job in the field a semester before I graduated. I absolutely hated it!! But I was so far into it I just wanted to finish and get out!! (stupid idea by the way). However, I did meet my soon to be husband in the program :)So there is a plus to the story.
After I graduated I got a job as a counselor/advisor for a local college. And I really like it. Anyway I definitely would like to continue my education and do a masters and eventually a Ph.D. So naturally I thought about doing a masters in counseling to continue my career in college counseling. Now I have a dilemma...we are going to move to Spain in a few years. We love the lifestyle there. But they don't have counselors/advisors at the colleges/high schools there. That position doesn't even exist. (boyfriend's from there).
So I had to reconsider that.

I cannot find protocol on this item...Do you have the right to use the acronyms after you receive your diploma? When should you indicate degrees received? Should it be used only in related industrial fields?

I'm in Bio 101 right now, but I'm not sure if I want to take 102. I heard 102 is all about chem/physics or something like that. Please explain, anyone who has already take these 2 classes. I'm taking up nursing as my major, and I'm following a requirement guide. I need human anatomy and physiology, but General Biology 102 wasn't mentioned.

thanks in advance =]

But everyone in my family is like saying: "that your undecided and that I have to figure out what to do with your life". Hey I know what I want. But damn its hard to find a school that teaches languages or at least gives out a bachelors in it...

I'm a first semester freshman and I'm attempting to estimate my gpa since it's almost the end of the semester

I believe I'm getting between a
2.6 (lowest possible gpa)
and a 3.4 (highest possible gpa)

i should end up around a 2.8 to a 3.0
is that a bad gpa for a first semester freshman??

After I finished m exam, I passed it in. I never got my graded exam back, and my grade was never posted online, so I was a little worried. When I talked to my professor, he said that if it wasn't online it was never graded, and that they found an exam still in the testing location. The exam was mine. I think my prof. might try to make me retake the exam. Don't you think the fault lies with him, though? What should I do?
