Im taking 16 hours my first semester freshman year in college and im doing... ok, usually C+s or C's. However, im technically failing my biology lab with a 66, mainly because i generally have no idea what were doing in the class, despite the fact that i (try) to pay attention, i just cant get it, and its really frusterating that im trying so hard too. This is kinda the same thing with my other classes, like art, studying for me, doesnt = good grades. And im really good about going to class and taking notes, ive never missed a class yet! I guess my question is what is the most effective way to pass any given college course? Like, study habit wise, etc.

Hello, I have been recently wanting to attend the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music at New School University in New York City. My only problem is that my GPA is really low. I am in my second quarter of my junior year and have a 2.2 GPA. This is due to me having a rough past. I am in the process of recovering from depression, extreme loneliness, and thoughts of suicide. I am actually a very intelligent person with a high iq and several of my teachers consider me to be a genius. I am still trying to recover from my past and pick myself up. I am trying to enter the college through guitar and am extremely talented. I joined jazz band for guitar and have an A in the class, as well as 2 other music classes, band and piano. It is not easy for me to get back on my feet after all I have dealt with. I have read the minimum gpa to get into the school is a 2.0 so if I got my grades up, do I have a fairly good chance at getting into the school? Going to music school in NYC is my dream.

I am a junior in highschool, and my grades have steadily improved from a 2.7 to a 3.4 between sophemore and junior year. Im a varsity basketball player, and am my class president. I am planning to have a 3.65 weighted G.P.A before early applications are due. My interests are in History and Ceramics. What is my safest chance into getting into Cal Poly SLO ? for the requirements, do they expect high marks/GPAs/SAT scores?

or do they judge you mostly on your performance?

if one has a fairly low/average GPA but excels in their instrument, is there a high chance they'll be accepted?

I am 20 yrs old & two semesters away from earning a BS Degree in Human Development & Family Studies. I work part time for a huge oil company in the Health Environment Safety & Security Department. My goal was to work as a Junior College teacher or as a Councelor at a school. However, recently I was informed of the income of Human Resource Mangers and since I am already in and experienced with a great company, I am considering going in that direction instead. What I am wondering is if my Human Development Degree will make me eligible for working towards a Masters Degree in Human Resources, and if I would still be able to teach or counsel if I choose this route. I really enjoy where I work and the income of a Junior College teacher and/or Counselor are both around 60-80 grand, where as the HR people at my work are earning 120-150 a year. What should I do??

what looks better on a resume?
1. Biology and Spanish double major

or

2. Biology major, Spanish & French minor.

I am planning on going to med school. I am fluent by the way in French just some classes to improve writing and more. But I know med school look for well rounded students and they look for humanities. so would be pick #1 or #2? I might practice most likely in the US then again I dont know. maybe in europe or africa maybe.

I am a sophomore at Merrimack College.
I am looking to go to The College New Jersey, Bentley, Northeastern, Montclair State University of New Jersey.
After my freshman year I have a 3.3 cumulative GPA (1st-3.12 2nd-3.49)
So far it looks like I will be receiving a 3.4 this semester.

I have a few questions.
I want to leave my school soon but I can finish out the year.
When should I apply?
Do I have a better chance for spring semester or next fall?
Should I apply ASAP if I am shooting for next fall. Would december/ January be an appropiate time?

Ok here's the deal I am currently a patient sitter at a hospital and it's great. I work PRN, and when I have the option-which is often- I am able to do homework. Which is great when you are in college. But this is not me. Sitting around bores me, and it doesn't offer the experience I need, that I know would help me in nursing school. What I would love to do is be an E.R. tech. Which I know has more potential for being busy work that the nurses do not care to do. But that doesn't bother me. Everyone has to work there way up the chain. I know that. The pros of the job- more experience, getting to know more people, a set schedule, better pay. Cons- not able to do my homework, and a set schedule. If there is anyone here who is currently in the medical field or has ever been through a similar situation your advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just want a few classes to get started, and my husband has a start but just wants to finish school. He would probably do something in engineering but I'm into english/writing/liberal arts.
Are there any legit places to help us out? I would be most comfortable taking an online version of a brick and mortar class...but cant find much around here. Thanks in advance.
