I am a sophomore at Merrimack College.
I am looking to go to The College New Jersey, Bentley, Northeastern, Montclair State University of New Jersey.
After my freshman year I have a 3.3 cumulative GPA (1st-3.12 2nd-3.49)
So far it looks like I will be receiving a 3.4 this semester.

I have a few questions.
I want to leave my school soon but I can finish out the year.
When should I apply?
Do I have a better chance for spring semester or next fall?
Should I apply ASAP if I am shooting for next fall. Would december/ January be an appropiate time?

Now is the right time to start thinking about this. Some colleges will let you apply for next semester, but applications are due soon. So check their websites, and their transfer admissions pages, to see if you can still apply for Spring. If not, then begin the process for Fall.

Apply as soon as you can. Some colleges have rolling admissions, and actually admit people as they receive qualified applications. It can only help if you apply earlier rather than later.

As for if applying for Spring increases or decreases your chances of admission versus Fall - I don't know the answer to that question, relative to these particular schools. You can speak to someone in admissions and ask them. I know that, at some other schools, it wouldn't make much of a difference.

Go to each school's web site. Go to the admissions section. See what deadline they have for transfer students. Apply before the deadline.
