I have an OK chance of getting into SLO, and I'm pretty much guaranteed into Pomona. My first choice is SLO. (I want to major in engineering, probably mechanical or electrical. Definitely not software.)

What are the major differences?
Does going to Pomona instead of SLO decrease my chances of earning a good job w/ a high income?
Should I go to a UC? I'm also applying to UCSD and UC Davis.

I know that Pomona's average gpa and test scores are way lower than SLO, but does that mean it's not as good?

Anyways, here are my stats:

My GPA for my 10th and 11th grade is 3.65
GPA for 9th, 10th, AND 11th grade is 3.83
(both are weighted)

I'm fairly confident that I did well on my ACTs. (took em a week ago.)

Currently in 12th grade, taking
AP Calculus BC
AP Chemistry
Composition
Civics
Robotics

first and then a masters degree. But I actually found out that I get them both at once. I am interviewing for a dream job who thinks I have my bachelors degree already but I actually won't get either degree until the end of the year. I am afraid they will think I lied. What should I do?

I'm estimating that I might get around 3.4, possibly 3.27 or 3.76.

In case your wondering, yes I am in a sport (waterpolo), i have joined 3 clubs, and I am taking advance courses, except English.

I'm a senior in high school and I'm going to be an early graduate (feb '08) but won't get my diploma until june '08. My high school GPA for grades 10-12 is somewhere between 3.6 and 3.7. On my y S.A.T. Reasoning test, I received 1190 and I still have to take my subject tests for the UC's. I have a few extra curricular activities and my essays/personal statements are pretty good. Also, I have recommendation letters to almost every University except the Cal States. I have already applied to Cal State L.A. and Cal State Northridge along with University of La Verne, Loyola Marymount, Woodbury, and Pepperdine. I have not yet submitted my UC applications which I plan to do in a day or two. Which of these universities will I most likely get into and which of these would be a challenge? I know UC's are really hard to get into but what about the rest of the ones I also applied to? Thanks in advance...

I may or may not attend a 4 year university.... I want to go into business for myself in a way of partnership, limited partner, franchisee, real estate, investing, sole proprietor, etc. -(something of that nature)

Is an associates degree essentially worthless?

I'm a college freshman and I am about to sign up for my second semester classes. I'm going towards a BS in Psychology, but I don't think one can get a very good job and salary with that degree after graduating. The Psyc Dept. in my University just keeps emailing about helping handicapped children and working in jails etc. Thats not what I want. The field is interesting, yet doesn't have great jobs. I also like Biology and Law. Yet I just read lawyers are having a difficult time finding work and many get out of law school. I was considering Biology and medical school, maybe neuroscience which is a blend of Psyc and Biology/Chem, but I hear people trying for Medical School and not getting in, or people failing the MCATs and not passing. Plus my Dad said he couldn't really see me as a doctor, but I don't think he understood it was more about the brain and it's functions and not cutting ppl open. I like many fields. I hate Math tho, Idk what classes to pick or wut to do with my life! HELP!

and what are all the degrees? I've heard of undergraduate, bachelor's, and advanced but I don't understand what all that means, and how many degrees can you get and whatever else you can tell me about the way college works; see I want to join the CIA, but they emailed me and told me I need a bachelor's degree and an advanced degree, and training in foreign languages ... and since my initial plan was already to join the army first (I'm 19 now) I'm thinking about joining within 6 months to a year... and using the military's college benefits to take classes as a foundation for a career as a CIA operative, but I'm kind of stressed because I never took tours of colleges or anything in high school. Also I was wanting to use Rosetta Stone software to learn other languages, but I think the CIA wants a mininum of three, and the most important three would be Arabic, Chinese, and Russian.. but with good rosetta stone software all those would be up to $1500, does college have language courses?

I don't want to wait to see if I get accepted into the community college I am in. The technical college offers the same degree I can obtain @ Community College or university. I am really concerned about hospitals taking my degree seriously and hiring me because of my degree type. I spoke to the advisor of the college and she said that I am still eligible for the same board exams and is Accredited by the Respiratory Therapist Organization. It would just be another name on my diploma. What do yall think I shoudl do? What would yall do??? All the answers from Honest people are truly, truly appreciated...Thanks and God Bless!!!
