.....and I was wondering if there was a website that has surveys (or something of the sort) that helps you choose a major. I am really confused and I am hoping to get an idea of what I might want ot do. Any help is appreciated,

I am a science major student considering a change of major. My plan is to go to medical school but i am having second thoughts about my major. I know that medical schools like diversity but would they prefer a B-C grade student that majors in science of an A-B grade student that majors in a humanities major?....

I am considering going back to school to get a 4 year engineering degree. Should I start at a community college and then go to a university or should I just start and finish at a university? I have been told that starting at a community college is a lot cheaper but there are sometimes classes that will not transfer so it may take a little longer. Is this true?

Also if I got a 2 year degree from a community college would it be possibly to upgrade later on to a 4 year degree? If so how much additional work would it be?

Thanks for any comments

The divorce rate is somewhere between 70% - 40 % which averages ~ 50% overall in the United States. The ebb and flow is based on factors such as socio - economic status, age, and education. Therefore, my question is this. Given that professors tend to be on decent socio - economic status and tend to be at a mature age (late 20's early 30's) and have a solid education. Is the divorce rate RELATIVELY LOW among your colleagues?

1. Do you teach university or community college?
2. What do you teach?
3. How long have you taught?

I cannot thank you enough for your contribution.

right now......... i'm just wondering if i just have too much on my plate. i am an International Baccalaureate student with a 4.63 weighted GPA (out of 5)..... I am a highschool senior and I have 5 IB (college credit classes), a pottery class and a band class (in which I have first chair clarinet, and student conductor).... I am also taking one online course as a dual enrollment course - Trigonometry.
I've been able to do well all these years, but this year is exceptionally difficult. I just can't seem to manage my time at all. I'll come home from school, spend the whole day working on homework and still not complete everything on time. It's not that I'm not trying, I just can't get everything done on time. Now..... I'm facing a C in Trig (ahh!!! C???!) and C in Biology....... They were F's before and I'm pretty sure I have a D in English also...... sigh. I just. I don't know..... I don't feel like I have "senioritis".... I've only gotten one C in my life and it was in 8th grade......

I was the first member of my family to go to college I eventually got a B.S. in Poli. Sci. and a B.S. in History then a Master of Public Affairs...

I like most believed that education was the key to succeed if you were poor; instead all I notice is that everyone wants experience first then education ... since I don't have any experience I drive a truck and sub at two different school districts. Another M.P.A. grad gave up on trying to work at cities and got her certification as a teacher...

Really if you go to school all you should try to study is something with advanced math (like engineering) or try to become a teacher since they are paid well and do not work all year.

I guess my question why didn't anyone ever tell me I wasting my time...

And don't say how lucky I am to have a masters it is only a detriment ... if I apply to a City to be a department head they say I don't have enough experience... If I apply to be a receptionist they say why am I applying for this job..

Okay, so for University of Texas, I was wondering ... the deadline for the scholarship application is tomorrow, but I don't have all of my essays written yet. Can it be submitted later than the deadline date, and be considered last, or does it automatically close and no longer allow entries?

Thanks for your help.

...submit a thesis statement (i.e., the stance of your argument) PRIOR TO doing the research? This is illogical. Don’t professors remember that a stance comes ONLY AFTER you at least do a preliminary research? How can you have a reasonable argument when you hardly know anything about a subject matter? Please explain.

I have picked out two of my most desirable careers: neurosurgeon and professor. I have compared salaries and obviously, neurosurgeons earn more. I love to teach and research, and I don't know whether that is possible in neurology. I am willing to for the long school hours and the long work hours; its perfectly fine by me. I need some expert opinion.... thank you.
P.S.: I'm considering to be a Professor of Genetics or European History (probably Genetics.)

Hello. I'm a sophomore in college and it is my ABSOLUTE dream to become a doctor. I want to do nothing more with my life. You see, I study really hard, everyday, for everything in school. People think I'm one of the brightest students because they see all of the work I put in. In actuality, I'm not. I try and try and try again only to get mostly B's in school, a few C's and a few A's. I lie to everyone by telling them that I got A's in the class when I didn't because I am ashamed of my failures. It's really depressing to see people who don't attempt anyting at all get 3.5 GPAs, while I'm stuck at a mere 2.9. Honestly, is med school not for me? How can I become a good applicant with the possibilty of graduating with, lets say a 3.3? I really need help : (

How tough is it to find parking at LaGuardia Community College in New York? I know they have private parking lots, but do the parking lots tend to get filled quickly? Is there off campus (side-streets) parking? Is parking better during the day or evening? Thanks in advance.

Every single day I see high school juniors, seniors, etc and so forth listing their grades in each subject, and then asking whether their grades are "okay." Usually the grades listed are A's, A-'s, 97's, 95's, you get the deal. And then they write something like "are my grades really bad?"

Clearly, these kids are looking for some sort of approval. But I find it to be highly annoying. If you're passing school with A's, obviously you should have enough sense to know where you stand and if your grades are acceptable. Does this irk anyone else? The kids can't be that clueless...

P.S. Not trying to be hostile, but this has seriously become a pet peeve of mine. For further information, I'm a college junior (with excellent marks that I need not parade).
