I can tell you from personal experience that those tests you are thinking about do not really help. They are more like personality tests and just tell you the sort of jobs that a person with your interests would generally be into, but those tests differ from day to day because your answers would differ each time you take it.

I am currently a senior in college and am still not entirely sure that I want to do what I am going to graduate for.

In college, instead of worrying about your major, you should just focus on taking the general classes that everyone has to take. Then, you can begin to get a focus on what subjects really interest you and talk to your adviser and they will help you choose a major.

So... this is kind of hard because those are two very different things. From my experience, journalism programs are really competitive and intensive, although it varies from school to school. And journalism isn't really creative writing. Journalism is writing articles for newspapers, researching and informing the public. If you majored in journalism, you would most likely be writing articles for newspapers, magazines, or doing news broadcasts. You can double major in both, which would be useful towards a job as a food critic, but you don't want that. But, well, you haven't even started applying to schools yet, so you don't really need to think about what you want to major in. Unless you've been accepted into engineering or music or something, you don't really need to think about what you want to focus on because schools don't expect you to know what you want to do with your life in first year, and they give you a chance to take an array of courses to test some waters. And along the way, you might pick up some new interests, and some of the stuff you thought you'd like actually turns out to be a nightmare. You announce your majors before the start of your second year, but even then there's room to take courses outside of your program and figure out what you want to do. And if it helps to ease your mind, a lot of employers don't even care what kind of degree you have as long as you have a degree - it shows you're a smart hard worker! Don't worry about it too much for now. You have an idea of what you'd like, and that's already really good. Start reading into the different schools you're interested in, and compare the different programs. Do some research, talk to your school counselor and apply to the schools and programs that sound the most appealing to you.

Have you spoken to anyone at your school's Career Center yet? They usually have tests you can take to determine what kinds of careers you might be best suited for, which may send you in a particular direction for a major.

you could always go in undelcared. If thats not your cup o tea, then i know the Arizona State website has a survey in which you select the areas that interest u the most and from that picks out the major.

now you have the chance to choose,so take something you like & enjoy reading, because after graduating most probably you wont have much choices in what you're getting as a job.

so better start with something interesting!

It's a question for the college counselors. Make an appointment with them. I'm sure you can be good ideas from them. Good luck.

idk of anything like that but...

95 % of college students either have no idea what their major is until their 3rd or 4th year, or switch their major midway through college

i have no idea what i want to do (sophmore)
college is as much about learning a skill as it is about finding what skill you want to learn
