I look back on my years in college, and I think to myself, how did I do all that work and take all those classes? I was so disciplined, it's unreal! I don't know if I could do it all over again and be that disciplined. I really studied so my butt off. Plus, since I lived off-campus, I had to drive back and forth a half hour each day, sometimes twice a day (finding a parking spot was horrendous). I'd like to go for my Master's degree, but I don't know if I can deal with more research papers. Ugh.

How do you feel now that you've graduated? Do you wonder how you had the discipline to make it through college?

Most people in UNI are 18, I'll be 23 next year and I feel really self concious about it. Like I'm a failure and i wouldn't be able to relate to any of the teens.

I will moving to LA in August to attend USC for graduate school. My budget for living is around $1000 a month, but I may be willing to pay more. I am ideally looking for a studio.

I found some places near USC affordable, but I am hesistant to live there because of the crime, etc. I know a few people who have lived near USC for many years and they all say it is not that bad; however, I have a hard time believing that after reading some of these threads. I also know that there is gang activity around there which results in robberies, some homicides, etc.

I was looking into Glendale, Santa Monica, and Venice as possible options. It looks like Pasadena and Burbank are too far away.

If anyone has suggestions on where I could find a safe area within a 30 min drive of USC, I would really appreciate it. Is LA so bad that I really have to avoid wearing blue and red? I am of indian descent, if that makes a difference.

Just thinking ahead about how I would like to spend next summer...would like to be able to make money at the same time or at least break even...

My ideal summer: spent doing something acting/theatre-related (not an acting major-just really enjoy studying the craft...)

I would appreciate very much your sharing your ideas/experiences with me! Thanks!

I know a lot of people have asked this, but I thought I would just put it out there. I am a rising senior in high school and have a cumulative GPA of 3.7. I have only taken one AP class (AP US History), but my school does not offer that many to juniors, so this is actually more than most juniors take. I got a 1310 on my SAT I's, but I plan on retaking them and I am almost sure I will get at least a 1380. I have not taken my SAT II's yet but have been practicing and I am sure I will do well on those. I have 200+ community service hours and will recieve an award for recieving that many. I am president of FCCLA and Science Club and Vice President of Ecology Club. I am also in French Club, NHS, Naional French Honor Society, Peer Helpers, and Medical Club. This summer, I currently am part of a youth advisory council to create a health program for intercity youth, help to raise funds for the Uganda Rural Fund and am in the Book club at the library. Also, I am African American.

i would really like to become a cna or take community college courses... i am not sure what college i will be looking into but it will probably be in the prescot area...

i dont want to just sit around for six months waiting until i become a resident...

My school doesnt have a hospitality major but they do allow students to creat their own major. Should I create my own major, or chose something that is closely related although the classes will bore me? I plan on attending culinary school after I get my bachelors, and I want something that will compliment my future training.

1. I finished with a 3.85 HS GPA

2. I also did Running Start, and will receive a AA degree while in High School. I had a 3.7 GPA in Community College.

3. I am still applying as a Freshman, not a Trasnfer Student, even though I have my AA.

4. I have 0 Extra-Curricular Activities. I was lazy, I regret it.

5. I apply next fall. Still have time to get a lit bit of Volunteer Hours. How many should I get?

6. My schedule?

I started Running Start in 11th grade. In 9th and 10th I combined 2 honrs each year, and 1 AP class total. (There wasn't much then) In 11th grade I took, 2 Comm. College Classes/2 AP Classes/1 Honors.

And in 12th I am planning on: 4 Comm. College/2 AP classes.

7. I haven't taken the SAT yet. But I am planning on 2000-2300.

8. My essay is on how I came into the country from a foeign country. And how I am a family man, and thats why I have 0 extra-curricular activites.

Will I get into a Top University like

U of Penn
Stanford

Anyone know the annual salary of an English Professor with a masters degree? I want to major in English and become a professor but many people tell me that professors don't make much money compared to the amount they give to go to school for the years they do. Any advice and info would help.

Are these commas placed correctly? Do I need them at all? If not, why?

"She was able to save more money, having picked up etxra hours at work."

"He was an excellent student, following his older brother's lead."

I know if it starts with the participial phrase, yes, a comma follows. But, what about these?

Thanks!
